Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 27-year-old, Brooklyn, NY resident who is charged with Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, a class “D” Felony, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd Degree, a class “D” Felony.
On April 11, 2025 at 1:13 PM, Yorktown Police began an investigation into a possible “phone scam” type larceny. An investigation was conducted and it is alleged that the victim was contacted by phone and instructed to withdraw $30,000.00 in cash for a fraudulent purpose-the unfreezing of several on-line accounts. The victim was also advised that someone will come to the house to pick the money up. The victim withdrew the cash, but became suspicious and responded to the Yorktown Police Department to report the incident. Officers conducted an undercover investigation and it is further alleged the defendant arrived at the victim’s residence and took the cash from the victim. The defendant was stopped and placed under arrest. The defendant was transported to Yorktown P.D. Headquarters for arrest processing. Following arrest processing the defendant was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Raniolo and released on his own recognizance. The defendant is scheduled to return to the Yorktown Justice Court on May 13, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Comments are closed.
