Yorktown Police report that a 51year old Mount Vernon, NY resident who is charged with Petit Larceny and Criminal Possession Of Stolen Property, all of which are Class “A” Misdemeanors.
On January 21, 2025 at approximately 05:00 PM Sgt. Beyrer, Sgt. Vuoso, PO Pawelski, and PO DiNotte responded to Dick’s Sporting Goods for a report of a past larceny. Officers quickly obtained a description of the suspect and located him outside of the Jefferson Valley Mall near 24 hour Fitness, allegedly in possession of the stolen goods. An investigation at the scene revealed that the defendant allegedly stole a Yeti cooler valued at $450.00 from Dick’s Sporting Goods passing all points of sale making no attempt to pay for the item. He was arrested and transported to Yorktown Police Department for processing. After processing was completed the defendant was issued appearance tickets for the above charges. The defendant was then released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on February 6, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 24-year-old, Cortlandt Manor, NY, resident who is charged with Leaving the Scene of Personal Injury Auto Accident-Resulting in Death, a Class D Felony.
On January 3, 2025 at 8:06 PM the Yorktown Police Department received reports of a pedestrian struck on East Main Street near Mohegan Ave. Officers were dispatched to the scene, located the victim and rendered aid with the assistance of Yorktown Paramedics, the Mohegan Fire Department and Mohegan Ambulance. The victim was declared deceased a short time later at the hospital. An investigation at the scene was conducted and it is alleged that the defendant was traveling Westbound on East Main Street, struck the victim and did flee the scene. The Yorktown PD Accident Investigation Unit and the Yorktown PD Detective Bureau conducted an investigation with the assistance of the Westchester County Police Department Accident Investigation Unit as well as the Westchester County Real Time Crime Center. As a result of the investigation the defendant’s vehicle was identified and Yorktown PD as well as New York State Police responded to the defendant’s residence, located the vehicle and arrested the defendant for being the alleged operator of the motor vehicle. The defendant was arrested at this residence and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for arrest processing. The defendant was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court. |
