Yorktown Police report the arrest of 22 year old Mohegan Lake woman, who is charged with Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree, a Class "A" Misdemeanor.
On August 23, 2018 at approximately 9:33 PM, a call was received from a resident of Mohegan Lake, NY reporting a domestic incident. Det. Shanahan and P.O. Caprio were assigned to investigate the complaint. Following an investigation it’s alleged that the defendant did violate a Westchester Family Court Temporary Order of Protection by scratching the victims face resulting in a minor injury. The defendant was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of bail and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 6, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a twenty-six year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Grand Larceny 4th degree, a Class "E" Felony.
On August 20th, 2018 Yorktown Police received a report from H&M in the Jefferson Valley Mall reporting that an employee had been making fraudulent return transactions and then placing the money on gift cards without the stores authorization. P.O. Beyrer was assigned to investigate. Following an investigation, it is alleged that from August 12th 2018 at 12:51 pm to August 14th 2018 at 11:00 am, the defendant completed a total of ten separate transactions taking $1,019.80 from the store. On August 22, 2018, the defendant voluntarily appeared at Police Headquarters where he was placed under arrest and was processed on the above charges. The defendant was released on his own recognizance and is due back in Yorktown Court on September 25th, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of an Ossining man, who is charged with Grand Larceny 4th degree, a Class "E" Felony and Identity Theft 1st degree, a Class "D" Felony.
On February 13, 2018 Yorktown Police received a report from a resident of Yorktown who reported that a check made out to him had been mailed to an incorrect address and had been cashed by an unknown person. Detective Nadoraski was assigned to investigate. Following an investigation, it is alleged that on January 29, 2018 at 12:53 PM, the defendant assumed the identity of the victim and deposited the check in the amount of $2,670 into his own bank account and periodically made withdrawals. On August 16, 2018, the defendant voluntarily appeared at Police Headquarters where he was placed under arrest. The defendant was processed on the above charges and was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Raniolo. The defendant was released on $1000 cash bail and is due back in Yorktown Court on August 23, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown is having a Birthday Party and you're invited!

Hart Library & Lakeland School Administration Building for the jazz concert. The Yorktown Police Department will later be CLOSING VETERANS ROAD at 6:00 pm for the Yorktown Lions "Best of Yorktown!" concert and fireworks. VETERANS ROAD will remain CLOSED until the conclusion of the fireworks show. The Yorktown Police Department kindly asks residents to leave extra travel time and to use alternate routes around the scheduled road closures. The Yorktown Police Department has received reports of a bear sighting on Hanover St. in the area of Butler Ct. and Birdsall Dr. Residents are urged to use caution when outdoors in the area. Do not approach the bear if sighted. Yorktown Police officers are in the area.
