Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 24-year-old, Cortlandt Manor, NY, resident who is charged with Leaving the Scene of Personal Injury Auto Accident-Resulting in Death, a Class D Felony.
On January 3, 2025 at 8:06 PM the Yorktown Police Department received reports of a pedestrian struck on East Main Street near Mohegan Ave. Officers were dispatched to the scene, located the victim and rendered aid with the assistance of Yorktown Paramedics, the Mohegan Fire Department and Mohegan Ambulance. The victim was declared deceased a short time later at the hospital. An investigation at the scene was conducted and it is alleged that the defendant was traveling Westbound on East Main Street, struck the victim and did flee the scene. The Yorktown PD Accident Investigation Unit and the Yorktown PD Detective Bureau conducted an investigation with the assistance of the Westchester County Police Department Accident Investigation Unit as well as the Westchester County Real Time Crime Center. As a result of the investigation the defendant’s vehicle was identified and Yorktown PD as well as New York State Police responded to the defendant’s residence, located the vehicle and arrested the defendant for being the alleged operator of the motor vehicle. The defendant was arrested at this residence and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for arrest processing. The defendant was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court. Comments are closed.
