Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 39-year-old, Yonkers, NY resident who is charged with Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, a class “D” Felony.
On April 22, 2024 at 7:10 PM, Yorktown Police responded to Kay Jewelers in regard to a larceny. Upon arrival, the suspect had already fled the scene and an investigation was conducted. It is alleged that the suspect requested to try on a gold chain and ran out of the store once the employee handed him the necklace, leaving behind a fruit cup. The suspect was later identified as the defendant after the fruit cup was recovered with the defendants DNA. On 04/24/2025, at 1920 hours, the Westchester County Correctional Facility advised that the defendant was in their custody. The defendant was then transported from the Westchester County Jail to Yorktown Police Headquarters by the Westchester County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. The defendant was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Cohen-Pierson, processed for the arrest, and released on his own recognizance to the Westchester County Jail where he is being held on other charges. The defendant is scheduled to return to the Yorktown Justice Court on May 15, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Comments are closed.
