Yorktown Resident Falsely Reports Incident

2/7/2025

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 51-year-old Yorktown, NY resident for Falsely reporting an incident 3rd degree, a class “A” Misdemeanor.

On 1/15/2025, PO Delatorre responded to the report of a stolen motor vehicle. The defendant reported to Yorktown Police that sometime overnight, his 2020 Porsche Panamera was allegedly stolen from his driveway. An investigation was initiated at the scene. PO Delatorre was able to determine that there were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle, despite being told the vehicle was locked. PO Delatorre was also advised that the defendant was in possession of both vehicle keys.

Detective Caprio was informed of the incident and continued the investigation. Through his investigation, Detective Caprio found video footage of the vehicle being driven during a time frame that contradicted with what was reported. Detective Caprio was able to determine that the defendant allegedly had knowledge that the vehicle was removed from his driveway, and that the vehicle was not stolen from the residence.

On 2/3/2025 the defendant was contacted by Yorktown Police and advised to turn himself in. The defendant turned himself in on the above charge that day. He was fingerprinted and processed, and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court on 2/18/2025 at 6 PM.
