Traffic Safety
The department's Traffic Safety Officers are Police Officer Robert Rohr and Police Officer Max Ellsworth. While Officer Rohr and Officer Ellsworth's primary responsibilities center around traffic enforcement, they are also tasked with maintaining the orderly and efficient flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic, and providing support services to the Patrol Division. Officers Rohr and Ellsworth maintain DCJS calibration and certification of all department-owned RADAR units and commercial motor vehicle weight scales. Additionally, Officers Rohr and Ellsworth work closely with the Yorktown Traffic Safety Advisory Committee on both new and on-going traffic complaints and routinely work with residents regarding specific traffic-related complaints throughout the Town of Yorktown.
