Yorktown Man Charged with Reckless Endangerment After Spitting Blood in Officer's Face

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 23 year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.
 
On March 27, 2020 at approximately 11:38 PM, Yorktown Police responded to a residence in Yorktown to investigate a report of an altercation in progress.  Police conducted an investigation and it is alleged that one subject involved needed medical assistance for an unrelated issue.  Yorktown Police assisted EMS personnel with transporting the defendant to New York-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital. On March 28, 2020 at approximately 12:40 AM, while at the hospital, it’s alleged that the defendant intentionally spit blood in an officer’s face & eyes which created a substantial risk of serious physical injury to the officer. On April 2, 2020 at approximately 8:20 PM, the Defendant responded to Yorktown Police Headquarters where he was placed under arrest by members of the Yorktown Police Department.
 
The defendant was processed on the above charge, issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance.  He is scheduled to appear in the Cortlandt Justice Court on May 18, 2020 at 9:00 AM.
