Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 53-year-old Yorktown man, who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated DWI with a BAC of .18% or more, both Unclassified Misdemeanors. He is additionally charged with Failing to Use Designated Lane, a traffic infraction.
Police report that on October 30, 2020 at approximately 1:14 am, P.O. Houlihan responded to the area of Windmill Drive for a report of a motor vehicle accident. An investigation at the scene revealed that the defendant allegedly failed to use the designated lane of travel and was driving while intoxicated. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for arrest processing. Upon arrival at headquarters, a further investigation revealed that the defendant allegedly operated his vehicle with a BAC of .18% or more. The defendant was processed on the above charges and released on his own recognizance to a responsible third party. He is due back in the Yorktown Justice Court on November 12, 2020 at 6:00 pm. UPDATE: The Yorktown Police Department have released more information on the car crash that killed two Mahopac, NY residents on Sunday evening. According to Police, 56 year old Denise Ryan of Mahopac, NY was driving a Honda Accord southbound on Route 6N and 50 year old Michael Moore of Mahopac, NY was driving a Lexus northbound on Route 6N, when the crash occurred. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene and Ryan was transported by ambulance to the Westchester Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries. The accident is being investigated by the Town of Yorktown Police Department Accident Investigation Unit, with assistance from members of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety Accident Investigation Unit. Yorktown Police, along with Empress EMS, Lake Mohegan Fire Department, Lake Mohegan Volunteer Ambulance Corp, Mahopac Falls Fire Department & Mahopac Falls Volunteer Ambulance Corp, responded to the two car motor vehicle accident on Route 6N, just south of the Westchester/Putnam Border. A 50 year old male resident of Mahopac, NY, who was the operator of one of the involved vehicles, was declared deceased at the scene. A 56 year old female resident of Mahopac, NY, who was the operator of the second involved vehicle, was transported to the Westchester County Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. The identities of the victims are being withheld pending next of kin notifications. Investigation into the crash is being conducted by the Town of Yorktown Police Department Accident Investigation Unit, with the assistance of members of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety Accident Investigation Unit. Yorktown Police report the arrest of 53 year old Yonkers woman on an Arrest Warrant issued for Petit Larceny and Possession of Burglar’s Tools, both Class "A" Misdemeanors.
According to Police, on May 7, 2019 at approximately 5:14 pm, Officer Campion was dispatched to the Macy’s department store on Lee Blvd for a larceny in progress. An investigation at the scene revealed that on May 7, 2019, the defendant allegedly stole $659 worth of assorted merchandise and fled the scene. It’s further alleged that during the larceny, the defendant used an item to defeat the store's electronic security sensors. Officer Campion made several unsuccessful attempts to contact the defendant in regards to the incident. A warrant was applied for and issued by the Yorktown Justice Court on June 4, 2019 for her arrest. On October 21, 2020, Yorktown Police were notified by the Westchester County Department of Corrections that the defendant was in their custody on unrelated charges. Det. Finn and Officer Battista responded to the Westchester County Jail abd took custody of the defendant. She was placed under arrest and transported back to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. The defendant was processed on the above charges, arraigned by the Honorable Gary Raniolo and subsequently released on her own recognizance. She is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on November 10, 2020 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 70 year old Garrison, NY, resident who is charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree, a Class E Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class A Misdemeanor, and numerous Traffic Infractions.
According to police, on October 15, 2020, at approximately 6:30 PM Officer Beyrer was on patrol on East Main Street when he observed a vehicle being operated with insufficient brake lights. Officer Beyrer performed a traffic stop of the vehicle and identified the driver as the defendant. A DMV check of the defendant’s license status showed that the defendant was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while his privilege to do so was suspended. A DMV check of the vehicle’s license plate and VIN showed that the vehicle was allegedly unregistered, uninsured and the affixed license plates did not belong to that vehicle. After an investigation at the scene was completed, it is further alleged that multiple other traffic infractions were committed and the defendant was allegedly in possession of a quantity of Oxycontin. It is further alleged that both the driver and the vehicle were involved in leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident that occurred on October 2, 2020, which was actively being investigated by Officer Beyrer. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. After processing the defendant was issued traffic tickets for the traffic infractions and an appearance ticket for the misdemeanor and felony charges. The defendant was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on November 3, 2020, at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 42 year old Yorktown, NY, resident, who is charged with Using a Vehicle Without Interlock Device, a Class A Misdemeanor, Non-Transparent Side Windows, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Improper Plates, Open Container of Alcohol in Motor Vehicle and No Parking on Highway, all Traffic Infractions.
On October 15, 2020, at approximately 4:10 AM, Officer Premuto responded to a report of a vehicle parked in the intersection of Beaver Drive and Holyoke Road. Upon arrival, Officer Premuto observed a vehicle parked in the intersection with the driver asleep behind the wheel. Officer Premuto identified the operator as the defendant. After an investigation at the scene, it was determined that the defendant was allegedly operating a motor vehicle without a court ordered Interlock device and an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. A further investigation revealed that the defendant was allegedly operating an unregistered motor vehicle with improper plates and tinted side windows that was parked in the roadway. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. Following processing on the above charges, the defendant was issued uniform traffic tickets and was released on his own recognizance. He is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on November 3, 2020, at 6:00 PM. |
