Yorktown Man Asleep Behind the Wheel Charged With Operating a Vehicle Without An Interlock Device10/16/2020
Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 42 year old Yorktown, NY, resident, who is charged with Using a Vehicle Without Interlock Device, a Class A Misdemeanor, Non-Transparent Side Windows, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Improper Plates, Open Container of Alcohol in Motor Vehicle and No Parking on Highway, all Traffic Infractions.
On October 15, 2020, at approximately 4:10 AM, Officer Premuto responded to a report of a vehicle parked in the intersection of Beaver Drive and Holyoke Road. Upon arrival, Officer Premuto observed a vehicle parked in the intersection with the driver asleep behind the wheel. Officer Premuto identified the operator as the defendant. After an investigation at the scene, it was determined that the defendant was allegedly operating a motor vehicle without a court ordered Interlock device and an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. A further investigation revealed that the defendant was allegedly operating an unregistered motor vehicle with improper plates and tinted side windows that was parked in the roadway. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. Following processing on the above charges, the defendant was issued uniform traffic tickets and was released on his own recognizance. He is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on November 3, 2020, at 6:00 PM. Comments are closed.
