Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 56 year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, a Class "A" Misdemeanor, Driving While Intoxicated, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, as well as Open Container of Alcohol, Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent, and Fail to Use Designated Lane, all Traffic Infractions.
According to police on July 24, 2020 at approximately 4:41 PM, Yorktown Police received a report of a single vehicle accident involving a vehicle that had rolled over. Officer Lizarzaburu and several other officers responded to the scene and identified the defendant as the operator of the vehicle involved in the single vehicle accident. The scene was made safe and the defendant was treated by EMS personnel. After an investigation at the scene, it’s alleged that the defendant was driving while intoxicated, possessed open containers of alcohol, was travelling at a speed that was not reasonable or prudent for the road conditions, and failed to use his designated lane. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Hudson Valley Hospital for medical treatment. After being released from the hospital, he was transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters by Officer Lizarzaburu for arrest processing. After further investigation at Yorktown Police Headquarters, it’s alleged that the defendant was unlawfully in possession of a quantity of Diazepam. Following processing on the charges, the defendant was issued traffic tickets and an appearance ticket for the above charges and released on his own recognizance to a responsible party. The defendant is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on September 3, 2020 at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 49 year old Mohegan Lake woman, who is charged with Identity Theft 2nd Degree, a Class “E” Felony.
According to police, on July 19, 2020 at approximately 6:27 PM, the Yorktown Police Department received a report of an identity theft. Officer Beyrer responded and initiated an investigation. Following an investigation it is alleged that the defendant assumed the identity of the victim and used the victim’s personal information to open a credit card which was then used for the defendant’s own financial gain. On July 29, 2020 at about 7:00 PM the defendant came to the Yorktown Police Department voluntarily to be interviewed. After the interview was completed the defendant was placed under arrest. After processing on the charge, the defendant was issued an appearance ticket and released on her own recognizance. The defendant is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on September 10, 2020 at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 30 year old Yorktown, NY woman, who is charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle 1st, a class E Felony, Resisting Arrest, a class A Misdemeanor, Driving While Ability Impaired - Drugs, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Suspended Registration, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, No Insurance, a Traffic Infraction and Failure to Keep Right, a Traffic Infraction.
On July 23, 2020, at approximately 1:25AM, P.O. Battista was on routine patrol, stopped at a red light on Sunnyside Street facing south bound at Route 6, when he observed a black Honda Civic traveling south bound on Sunnyside Street, south of Route 6. P.O. Battista observed the vehicle allegedly drive to the left side of the roadway, failing to keep right. The vehicle then pulled off to the right side of the road and stopped. Upon approaching the vehicle, P.O. Battista observed the operator, later identified as the defendant, with her head down and eyes closed. After an investigation at the scene, it was determined that the defendant was allegedly operating a vehicle while her ability to do so was impaired by drugs. After a further investigation, it was determined that the defendant was allegedly operating a vehicle while her privilege to do so was revoked due to a previous refusal to submit to a chemical test and also allegedly operating a vehicle with a suspended registration and no insurance. The defendant was advised that she was under arrest and allegedly locked herself in her vehicle in an attempt to prevent her lawful arrest. P.O. Battista and P.O. Premuto were able to gain entry into the vehicle and the defendant was placed under arrest. She was transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. Following processing on the above charges, the defendant was issued an appearance ticket and uniform traffic tickets. She was released on her own recognizance to a responsible third party. She is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 3, 2020, at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 38 year old West Hempstead, NY man who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, and Fail to Use Designated Lane, a traffic infraction.
According to police, on July 22, 2020 at approximately 3:02 PM, the Yorktown Police receive a report of a single vehicle accident involving a vehicle striking a utility pole on Croton Lake Road (Rt. 129). Officer Curtin responded to the scene and identified the defendant as the operator and only occupant of the vehicle. After an investigation was completed at the scene it is alleged that the defendant failed to use his designated lane and was driving while intoxicated by alcohol. The defendant was placed under arrest and then transported to Hudson Valley Hospital for medical treatment. Upon discharge from the hospital the defendant was transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. Following arrest processing the defendant was issued traffic tickets for the above charges and released on his own recognizance to a responsible third party. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 20 year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Driving While Ability Impaired - Drugs, a class E Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, a class A Misdemeanor, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a Violation, Disobey Traffic Control Device and 2 counts of Driving to Left of Pavement Markings, all Traffic Infractions.
On July 18, 2020, at approximately 12:42 am, Sgt. Sansone was on patrol on Gomer Street in the area of Alden Drive when he observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Gomer Street in front of him allegedly cross over the double yellow lines in to the southbound lane and then back in to the northbound lane. The vehicle then allegedly crossed back over the double yellow lines into the southbound lane. Sgt. Sansone activated his emergency lights in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle then sped up, allegedly failing to obey the posted speed limit of 30 mph. The vehicle eventually came to a stop after turning eastbound on to London Road and the driver was identified as the defendant. After an investigation at the scene, it was determined that the defendant was allegedly driving while his ability was impaired by drugs and that he was allegedly in possession of a quantity of heroin and marijuana. He was placed under arrest by P.O. Premuto and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. Upon further investigation at Yorktown Police Headquarters, it was determined that the defendant had a previous conviction within the last 10 years for driving while ability impaired by drugs. Following processing on the above charges, the defendant was issued an appearance ticket and uniform traffic tickets. He was released on his own recognizance to a responsible third party. He is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on August 27, 2020, at 6:00 pm. |
