Chief Robert Noble of the Yorktown Police Department advises motorist that on Monday May 27th 2019 at 11:00 AM the Yorktown VFW Post 8328 will be having a parade in honor of Memorial Day. The parade will begin at Patriot Park on Front Street and will travel East on Underhill Avenue, to the intersection with Commerce Street to Veterans Road, concluding with ceremonies at the Yorktown Community Cultural Center.
To provide for safety of parade participants and spectators the following roadways will be closed from approximately 11:00 AM until the conclusion of the parade, estimated to be approximately one hour. 1. Underhill Avenue from Route 118 to Front Street 2. Commerce Street from Kear Street to Veterans Road 3. Veterans Road from Commerce Street to Maple Hill Street 4. Kear Street at Underhill Avenue 5. Downing Drive at Commerce Street 6. Hanover Road at Commerce Street 7. Front Street at Underhill Avenue Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 47 year old Yorktown, NY resident who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .08% or more, both Unclassified Misdemeanors, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Revoked License, an E Felony, Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License, a Traffic Infraction and Refusal to Take a Breath Test, a Traffic Infraction.
On May 23, 2019, at approximately 2:17 AM, P.O. David was notified by a motorist of a driver passed out in a vehicle at 250 East Main Street. P.O. David responded to investigate. Upon arrival, the defendant was identified as the operator and an investigation on scene revealed that the defendant was allegedly driving while intoxicated. Further investigation revealed that the defendant was allegedly operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08% or more. He was additionally charged for allegedly driving with revoked license, allegedly operating a motor vehicle without a license and allegedly refusing to take a breath test. The defendant was arrested and transported to Police Headquarters. Upon arrival at Headquarters the defendant was processed on the above charges and arraigned by Judge Lagonia who remanded him without bail to appear on June 4, 2019 at 6:00PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 34 year old Yorktown, NY resident who was arrested on a bench warrant issued by the Yorktown Justice Court for failure to appear for a court appearance on the charges of Driving while intoxicated, an unclassified Misdemeanor, Criminal Obstruction of breathing, a Class A Misdemeanor and Harassment in the second degree, a violation.
According to police, on May 9, 2019 the defendant failed to appear at the Yorktown Justice Court on the original charges of Driving while intoxicated, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Harassment in the second degree and three Bench Warrants were subsequently issued. On May 21, 2019 the defendant voluntarily surrendered himself at the Yorktown Police Department and Officer Doherty placed him under arrest. Following processing at the Yorktown Police Department the defendant was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court and released on $800.00 bail. The defendant is scheduled to return to the Yorktown Justice Court on May 23, 2019 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 24 year old Yorktown, NY resident who is charged with Assault in the 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (2 Counts), which are all Class “A” Misdemeanors.
According to Police, a call was received on May 10, 2019 at 3:38 PM, reporting a domestic incident at a Yorktown residence. Sgt. Racioppo, Officer Premuto, Officer Tillistrand, Officer Chaparro, Det. Nadoraski, and Det. Sage responded to the scene and conducted an investigation. It is alleged that the defendant did strike the victim in the head with a closed fist causing physical injury and rendering the victim unconscious for a period of time. It is alleged that this took place in the presence of two children under the age of seventeen. It is further alleged that the defendant did also possess a quantity of Xanax. The defendant was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. The defendant was processed on the above charges and was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court by Judge Raniolo where he set bail at $1,000 bond or $250 cash and a Temporary Order of Protection was issued on behalf of the victim. The defendant posted bail and was released. The defendant is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on May 14, 2019 at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a twenty-one year old Yorktown man who is charged with Forgery 3rd Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor and Petit Larceny, a Class “A” Misdemeanor (2 counts).
On May 3, 2019, PO Battista was dispatched to a Mohegan Lake residence for a domestic incident. Upon arrival, PO Battista met with the victim, who reported that someone had allegedly stolen and cashed her paycheck. PO Battista conducted an investigation at the scene and identified the suspect as the defendant. PO Battista made contact with the defendant at his residence and placed him under arrest. The defendant was transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters, where he was processed on the above charges, issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on June 4, 2019 at 6:00 pm. |
