Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 26 year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC over .08%, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, DWI First Offense and Speed in Zone.
On August 18, 2021, at approximately 2:42 am, Officer Vuoso was conducting speed enforcement on Crompond Road. Officer Vuoso stopped a vehicle for allegedly traveling over the posted speed limit. He identified the operator as the defendant. After an investigation on scene, it was determined that the defendant was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. Back at Headquarters, further investigation was conducted and was revealed that the defendant had allegedly been operating the vehicle with a BAC over .08%. Following processing on the above charges, the defendant was issued traffic tickets, and was released on his own recognizance to a responsible third party. The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 2, 2021 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 74 year old Burlington, Vermont woman, who is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree, a Class "E" Felony.
According to Police, on July 27, 2021 at approximately 4:00 pm, Officer Madaus took a report from the defendant in reference to an unrelated matter. Following an investigation at a later time, it was discovered that the defendant was allegedly in possession of a stolen 2021 Ford Transit van that had been reported stolen in Essex, Vermont. On August 12, 2021 the defendant returned to the Yorktown Police Department for an unrelated matter-allegedly still in possession of the aforementioned vehicle and was placed under arrest. The defendant was processed at Yorktown Police Headquarters on the above charge and released on her own recognizance. The defendant is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on August 26, 2021 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 32 year old Bronx man, who is charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without an Interlock Device Installed, both Unclassified Misdemeanors, as well as numerous other traffic violations.
According to police, on August 10, 2021 at approximately 5:09 pm, Officer Curtis was patrolling Route 6 when he observed a vehicle allegedly fail to use the designated lane and drive onto the shoulder of the roadway. Officer Curtis performed a traffic stop of the vehicle and identified the driver as the defendant. A DMV check of the defendant’s license status showed that the defendant was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while his privilege to do so was revoked. A DMV check of the vehicle’s license plate and VIN showed that the vehicle was allegedly unregistered, uninsured and the affixed license plates did not belong to that vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the defendant was allegedly operating a motor vehicle without a court-ordered ignition interlock device. The defendant was placed under arrest and processed on the scene. The defendant was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on August 26, 2021 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 38 year old Yorktown Heights woman, who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Unsafe Backing of a Motor Vehicle and Open Alcohol Container in a Motor Vehicle, both Traffic Infractions, as well as a 68 year old Hopewell Junction woman who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated BAC .18% or More, both Unclassified Misdemeanors.
On July 30, 2021, at approximately 1:30 pm, PO Curtin responded to a call for a check the welfare, where an unknown female was alleged to have fallen asleep at the wheel of a vehicle on Allan Avenue. Upon locating the vehicle, PO Curtin attempted to make contact with the female and her vehicle rolled backwards into his patrol vehicle. PO Curtin began an investigation and the operator of the motor vehicle was identified as a 38 year old Yorktown Heights woman. After completing the investigation, it is alleged that the defendant was driving while intoxicated, had an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle, and allowed the vehicle to back unsafely into the patrol vehicle. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. Following processing on the above charges, the defendant was issued traffic tickets, and was released on her own recognizance to a responsible third party. She is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on August 12, 2021 at 6:00 pm. Later than day at about at about 9:10 pm, Yorktown Police were called to the Mobil gas station, located at 3205 Crompond Road, on a report of a vehicle that had struck a guiderail. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and identified the operator as a 68 year old Hopewell Junction woman. At the completion of the investigation at the scene, it is alleged that the defendant was driving while intoxicated. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. Additional investigation at police headquarters led to the woman additionally being charged with operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .18% or more. After processing the defendant on the above charges, she was issued traffic tickets and released on her own recognizance to a responsible adult. The defendant is due to appear before the Yorktown Justice Court on August 10, 2021 at 6:00 pm. |
