Yorktown Man Found to be in Violation of Order of Protection Following Medical Emergency

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 33 year old Yorktown man, who is charged with two counts of Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.
 
On February 24, 2021 at about 3:14 pm, Officer Schmelmer and several other officers were dispatched to a residence in Yorktown for a report of a medical emergency.  Upon arrival on scene, officers located the defendant inside the victim’s residence, in the presence of the victim.  The defendant was transported to Hudson Valley Hospital by ambulance to receive medical treatment.  Following further investigation, it is alleged that the defendant violated the ‘stay away’ provision of two duly sworn Temporary Orders of Protection.  Officer Schmelmer responded to Hudson Valley Hospital and placed the defendant under arrest upon his discharge.  The defendant was transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.
 
The defendant was arraigned on the above charges by the Honorable Gary Raniolo, who set bail in the amount of $10,000 cash or $25,000 bond.  The defendant was unable to post bail and was subsequently remanded to the Westchester County Jail.  He is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on March 11, 2021 at 6:00 pm.

Yorktown Man Remanded to County Jail After Violating Order of Protection

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 51 year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Criminal Contempt 1st Degree, a Class “E” Felony, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor, and Harassment, a Violation.
 
On February 23, 2021 at about 8:05 pm, Officer Palladino and several other officers were dispatched to a residence in Yorktown for a report of a domestic incident.  Upon arrival, officers met with the victim and the defendant.  At the completion of an investigation at the scene, it is alleged that the defendant punched a hole in the wall of the victim’s home, threatened to kill the victim and the defendant was under the influence of alcohol in the presence of the victim, which was in violation of a duly sworn order of protection.  The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing.
 
The defendant was arraigned on the above charges by the Honorable Gary Raniolo, who set bail was set in the amount $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond, which the defendant was unable to post.  The defendant was subsequently remanded to the Westchester County Jail and is due to appear before the Yorktown Justice Court on February 25, 2021 at 6:00 pm.

Yorktown Man with Arrest Warrant Charged with Unlawful Fleeing, Resisting Arrest, Other Charges After Running from Officer

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 29 year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, all Class "A" Misdemeanors, as well as Reckless Driving and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration, both Unclassified Misdemeanors, as well as Speed in Zone and Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent (4 counts), all traffic infractions.
 
On February 21, 2021 at approximately 6:40 pm, Officer Hannigan was on patrol on Crompond Road when he observed a vehicle allegedly being operated with a suspended registration.  Officer Hannigan activated his emergency lights and attempted to make a traffic stop when it is alleged that the defendant failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed.  A traffic stop was initiated on Hedge Street, where it is alleged that the defendant did not comply with lawful orders and resisted arrest.  After taking the suspect into custody, it is alleged that the defendant was unlawfully in possession of a quantity of Alprazolam pills, a controlled substance, and had an  active arrest warrant issued out of the Greenburgh Town Court.  The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters to be processed on above charges.
 
The defendant was issued uniform traffic tickets and an appearance ticket for the above listed charges and was turned over to Town of Greenburgh Police for the active arrest warrant.  The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on March 11, 2021 at 6:00 pm.

Yorktown Woman Charged with Child Endangerment After Allegedly Striking Victim with Belt

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a forty-five year old Yorktown woman, who is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.
 
On February 8, 2021 at about 6:22 pm, Yorktown Police responded to a Yorktown residence to investigate a report of a domestic dispute.  PO Campion was dispatched and began an investigation.  After further investigation it is alleged that the defendant struck the victim with a belt multiple times, causing red marks and pain.  the defendant under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.
 
The defendant was later arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court by the Honorable Gary Raniolo.  A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim and the defendant was released on her own recognizance.  She is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on March 25, 2021 at 6:00 pm.

Stormville Man Charged with Felony "Leandra's Law," Host of Other Charges After Allegedly Driving Drunk & Crashing with Unrestrained Child in Vehicle

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 20 year old Stormville, New York man, who is charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated-Child in Car, a Class "E" Felony, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class "A" Misdemeanor, Driving While Intoxicated, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) .08 of More, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Rear Passenger Less Than 4 Years Old Child Seat Violation, Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent, Unsafe Lane Change and Tinted Windows, all Traffic Infractions.
    
On February 7, 2021, at approximately 11:47 pm, Yorktown Police received a call of a  one car motor vehicle accident on Route 6 in the area of Curry Street.  PO Ellsworth was dispatched, along with several other officers.  Upon arrival, PO Ellsworth met with a male operator, who he identified as the defendant.  During the investigation it was determined that in addition to the operator, there was a 1 year old child in the vehicle.  P.O. Ellsworth checked on the child and it’s alleged that the 1 year old child was not in a car seat and was seated on the rear seat being restrained by a seatbelt.  The child had a cut in the area of his mouth and EMS was dispatched to the scene.  The child’s mother was contacted and arrived on scene.  The child was then taken to Westchester Medical Center to be evaluated.  Following an investigation at the scene, it was determined that the defendant was allegedly driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. Upon further investigation at Yorktown Police Headquarters, the defendant was charged with allegedly having a B.A.C. over .08% and endangering the welfare of a child.
 
Following processing on the above charges, the defendant was issued uniform traffic tickets and arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court.  Following arraignment, the defendant was released on his own recognizance to appear in Yorktown Justice court on February 25, 2021 at 4:00 pm.
