Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 29 year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, all Class "A" Misdemeanors, as well as Reckless Driving and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration, both Unclassified Misdemeanors, as well as Speed in Zone and Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent (4 counts), all traffic infractions.
On February 21, 2021 at approximately 6:40 pm, Officer Hannigan was on patrol on Crompond Road when he observed a vehicle allegedly being operated with a suspended registration. Officer Hannigan activated his emergency lights and attempted to make a traffic stop when it is alleged that the defendant failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was initiated on Hedge Street, where it is alleged that the defendant did not comply with lawful orders and resisted arrest. After taking the suspect into custody, it is alleged that the defendant was unlawfully in possession of a quantity of Alprazolam pills, a controlled substance, and had an active arrest warrant issued out of the Greenburgh Town Court. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters to be processed on above charges. The defendant was issued uniform traffic tickets and an appearance ticket for the above listed charges and was turned over to Town of Greenburgh Police for the active arrest warrant. The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on March 11, 2021 at 6:00 pm. Comments are closed.
