Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 43-year-old male resident of Mahopac, NY, who is charged with Attempted Robbery in the 1st Degree, a Class C Felony, Menacing in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
On March 04, 2025 at approximately 11:50 PM, Yorktown Police responded the Mobil gas station at 3205 Crompond Road on a reported robbery in progress. Upon arrival officers learned the suspect had fled the area on foot, after he brandished a knife to the store clerk and demanded money-the store clerk had activated an alarm causing the suspect to flee without any proceeds from the store. An area search was conducted with the assistance of Westchester County Police and K9 without locating the suspect. Yorktown Police Department Detectives continued an investigation and were able to identify a possibly suspect vehicle. Further investigation lead to identifying the defendant as an alleged potential suspect. On March 11, 2025 Detective Hannigan was collaborating with the Carmel Police Department as they arrested the defendant on an unrelated incident. Yorktown Police continued their investigation and allege the defendant to be the person who attempted the Robbery on March 4th. The defendant was arrested by Yorktown Police at the Carmel Police Department after he was released from their custody. Yorktown officers transported the defendant to Yorktown Police Headquarters where he was processed on the above charges. The defendant was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Cohen-Pierson. A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim and cash bail was set at $50,000 which the defendant was unable to post. The defendant was remanded to the Westchester County Jail and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on March 13, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report that a 42-year-old Putnam Valley, NY, resident was arrested for Robbery 2nd, a class “C” Felony, criminal impersonation of a police officer 1st, a class “E” felony, reckless endangerment 2nd, a class “A” misdemeanor, Act in a manner injurious to a child, a class “A” misdemeanor, and assault 3rd, a class “A” misdemeanor.
On March 5, 2025 at approximately 2:20 PM officers were sent to the Shrub Oak Shopping Center parking lot on reports of a possible assault in progress. Officers arrived on scene and an investigation was commenced. The investigation alleges the following: The defendant pulled his vehicle in front of the victim (16 years old) as she was walking, exited his vehicle wearing a police type badge around his neck and verbally identified himself as law enforcement (later determined to be a false statement). The defendant shoved the victim against the building, pulled the victim’s phone out of her hands as she was recording him, and throws her onto the ground causing injuries to the victim. Two uninvolved persons intervened and separated the defendant from the victim. The defendant was placed under arrest at the scene and processed at the Yorktown Police Department. The victim was treated and released at a local hospital. The defendant was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Cohen-Pierson who issued a Temporary Order of Protection protecting the victim. Judge Cohen-Pierson set bail at $3500.00 cash-which was later posted by the defendant and he was released. The defendant is due back to The Yorktown Justice Court on 03/20/25 at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 59-year-old Mahopac, NY, resident who is charged with Menacing 2nd Degree as a hate crime, a Class “E” Felony.
On February 11, 2025 at approximately 3:00 PM, Yorktown Police received a report through NYSP of an incident that occurred in Yorktown, however both subjects were located in the area of 302 Somers Commons. PO Odar responded to the scene, and determined that the incident did occur on Route 6 in Yorktown. During the investigation the defendant was allegedly identified as the suspect. The victim reports, the defendant allegedly pointed a firearm at him while in traffic and called him a racial slur. Det Noone, Det Curtis, and Det Sage arrived on scene to assist in the investigation. A firearm matching the description provided by the victim was allegedly found in possession of the defendant. Following the investigation, PO Odar placed the defendant under arrest, and transported him to YPD headquarters. PO Dinotte processed the arrest, and the defendant was fingerprinted and photographed. He was arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court by the Honorable Judge Raniolo on the above charge, and was issued a temporary order of protection, protecting the victim. He is due back in court on 02/25/2025 at 6 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 51-year-old, Yorktown, NY resident who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, a Class “C” Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, defaced firearm, a Class “D” Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, intent to use, a Class “C” Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, previous conviction, a Class “D” Felony, Menacing 2nd Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.
On February 12, 2025 at approximately 7:28 PM, the Yorktown Police Department responded to a report of menacing with a firearm. An investigation was conducted and it was determined that the defendant and the victim got into a physical altercation. During the altercation, it is alleged that the defendant displayed a loaded firearm and pointed it at the victim. The firearm was recovered as a result of the investigation. Upon further investigation, it is alleged that the firearm was unlawfully possessed by the defendant with the intent to use it, the serial number on the firearm was defaced, the defendant was previously convicted of a crime, and the firearm was in a location which endangered the welfare of a child. After processing was completed the defendant was arraigned at the Yorktown Justice Court by the Honorable Judge Raniolo, remanded to the Westchester County Department of Corrections, and is due back to answer the above charges on 02/18/25 at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 40-year-old resident of Peekskill, NY who is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor; as well as Speed Not Reasonable & Prudent, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Uninspected Motor Vehicle, Improper Plates, and Operating Without Insurance, all Traffic Infractions.
On February 04, 2025, at 10:57 PM, PO Argiro was on routine patrol traveling southbound on the Taconic State Parkway when he observed a vehicle operating at a speed not reasonable and prudent for a safe roadway. PO Argiro conducted a traffic stop of the motor vehicle which was found to be allegedly operated by the defendant. PO Argiro conducted a check of the vehicle’s license plate which was found and confirmed to have been stolen out of the state of Pennsylvania. At 11:18 PM, the defendant was placed under arrest for alleged criminal possessing stolen property and transported for arrest processing in a marked patrol vehicle to the Yorktown Police Department. After processing was complete the defendant was released on her own recognizance after being issued Uniform Traffic Tickets, and a Desk Appearance Ticket for the alleged offenses. The defendant is scheduled to appear for arraignment by the Honorable Judge Raniolo at the Yorktown Justice Court on February 25, 2025, at 6:00 PM. |
