Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 24-year-old male resident of Peekskill, NY, who is charged with Petit Larceny, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Police report that on April 12, 2025 at approximately 1:30 PM, the Yorktown Police Department responded to Dick’s Sporting Goods for a reported larceny in progress. Officers quickly obtained a description of the suspect and located him at 621 Bank Rd, allegedly in possession of the stolen merchandise. An investigation at the scene revealed that the defendant allegedly stole a black pair of Nike shorts valued at $65.00 from Dick’s Sporting Goods passing all points of sale making no attempt to pay for the item. He was arrested and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for arrest processing. After processing was completed the defendant was issued an appearance ticket for the above charge. The defendant was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on April 29, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 39-year-old, Yonkers, NY resident who is charged with Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, a class “D” Felony.
On April 22, 2024 at 7:10 PM, Yorktown Police responded to Kay Jewelers in regard to a larceny. Upon arrival, the suspect had already fled the scene and an investigation was conducted. It is alleged that the suspect requested to try on a gold chain and ran out of the store once the employee handed him the necklace, leaving behind a fruit cup. The suspect was later identified as the defendant after the fruit cup was recovered with the defendants DNA. On 04/24/2025, at 1920 hours, the Westchester County Correctional Facility advised that the defendant was in their custody. The defendant was then transported from the Westchester County Jail to Yorktown Police Headquarters by the Westchester County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. The defendant was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Cohen-Pierson, processed for the arrest, and released on his own recognizance to the Westchester County Jail where he is being held on other charges. The defendant is scheduled to return to the Yorktown Justice Court on May 15, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 27-year-old, Brooklyn, NY resident who is charged with Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, a class “D” Felony, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd Degree, a class “D” Felony.
On April 11, 2025 at 1:13 PM, Yorktown Police began an investigation into a possible “phone scam” type larceny. An investigation was conducted and it is alleged that the victim was contacted by phone and instructed to withdraw $30,000.00 in cash for a fraudulent purpose-the unfreezing of several on-line accounts. The victim was also advised that someone will come to the house to pick the money up. The victim withdrew the cash, but became suspicious and responded to the Yorktown Police Department to report the incident. Officers conducted an undercover investigation and it is further alleged the defendant arrived at the victim’s residence and took the cash from the victim. The defendant was stopped and placed under arrest. The defendant was transported to Yorktown P.D. Headquarters for arrest processing. Following arrest processing the defendant was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Raniolo and released on his own recognizance. The defendant is scheduled to return to the Yorktown Justice Court on May 13, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a twenty-three-year-old Brooklyn, NY resident and a thirty-five-year-old Queens, NY resident, who are both charged with Grand Larceny 4th Degree a Class E Felony, and the Queens NY resident is additionally charged with Fugitive from Justice, a Class E Felony.
On March 20, 2025 Yorktown Police responded to CVS located at 2000 Commerce Street in the Town of Yorktown for a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival, an investigation was conducted and it is alleged that the defendants, aiding, abetting, and acting in concert with one another, did steal multiple items from the store which had a total value of $1,425.36. The Yorktown Detective Division with the assistance from The Westchester Real Time Crime Center were able to identify the vehicle used in this incident as well as the suspects who were identified as the defendants. On March 29, 2025 the vehicle used from this incident was stopped by the Town of Bedford Police Department who was able to provide the identification of the defendants. PO Montero and Det. Curtis responded to the scene and placed the defendants under arrest. They were transported back to the Yorktown Police Department for arrest processing. After further investigation, it is alleged that one of the defendants had an active warrant out of New Jersey. The Franklin Township Police Department was contacted and confirmed that they had an active arrest warrant for the defendant and wished to extradite her back to New Jersey. After processing on the above charge, defendant 1 was released on his own recognize, issued an appearance ticket, and is scheduled to return to the Yorktown Justice Court on April 15, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Following processing defendant 2 was arraigned by the Honorable Cohen-Pierson in the Yorktown Justice Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail. The defendant is due to appear in the Westchester County Court on March 31, 2025 at 9:00 and The Yorktown Justice Court on May 1, 2025 at 6:00 PM Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 43-year-old male resident of Mahopac, NY, who is charged with Attempted Robbery in the 1st Degree, a Class C Felony, Menacing in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
On March 04, 2025 at approximately 11:50 PM, Yorktown Police responded the Mobil gas station at 3205 Crompond Road on a reported robbery in progress. Upon arrival officers learned the suspect had fled the area on foot, after he brandished a knife to the store clerk and demanded money-the store clerk had activated an alarm causing the suspect to flee without any proceeds from the store. An area search was conducted with the assistance of Westchester County Police and K9 without locating the suspect. Yorktown Police Department Detectives continued an investigation and were able to identify a possibly suspect vehicle. Further investigation lead to identifying the defendant as an alleged potential suspect. On March 11, 2025 Detective Hannigan was collaborating with the Carmel Police Department as they arrested the defendant on an unrelated incident. Yorktown Police continued their investigation and allege the defendant to be the person who attempted the Robbery on March 4th. The defendant was arrested by Yorktown Police at the Carmel Police Department after he was released from their custody. Yorktown officers transported the defendant to Yorktown Police Headquarters where he was processed on the above charges. The defendant was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Cohen-Pierson. A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim and cash bail was set at $50,000 which the defendant was unable to post. The defendant was remanded to the Westchester County Jail and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on March 13, 2025 at 6:00 PM. |
