Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 57-year-old Stamford, CT resident who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated BAC .18% or More, both Unclassified Misdemeanors, as well as Consumption or Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in Motor Vehicle, and 2 counts of Disobeying a Traffic Control Device, all Traffic Infractions.
On March 30, 2024 at 10:20 PM, Yorktown Police responded to the area of Route 35 for a report of a vehicle being operated erratically. It was reported that the vehicle was swerving in the roadway and entered the opposing lane of traffic on several occasions. A vehicle description was provided and Officers canvassed the area. While canvassing, PO DiNotte observed a vehicle which matched the provided description on Route 118. PO DiNotte observed the vehicle cross the double yellow lines into the opposing lane of travel on at least two occasions and he initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle. After an investigation was conducted it is alleged that the operator identified as the defendant, possessed an open container of an alcoholic beverage inside the vehicle and was driving while intoxicated. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to The Yorktown Police Department for arrest processing. After further investigation at The Yorktown Police Department, it is alleged that the defendant operated a motor vehicle with a BAC of .18% or more. After processing was completed the defendant was issued traffic tickets for the above charges and released on their own recognizance to a responsible person. The defendant is due to appear in The Yorktown Justice Court on April 11, 2024 at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 16-year-old Yorktown Heights, NY resident, who is charged with Juvenile Delinquency with the underlying charge being Unlawful Fleeing From A Police Officer 3rd degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor, Speed in Zone, Disobey a traffic control device, and Unlicensed Operator, all traffic infractions.
According to Police, on March 27, 2024 at approximately 1:24 AM, Officer Odar was on routine patrol when he observed a vehicle allegedly speeding on Route 202. P.O. Odar attempted to stop the vehicle by activating the emergency lights on his patrol vehicle. The vehicle allegedly attempted to drive away from P.O. Odar at a high rate of speed, and crossing over the double yellow line in the roadway. The vehicle crashed shortly after, and the suspect, identified as the defendant was placed in handcuffs at the scene. Upon further investigation, P.O. Odar determined the driver was allegedly operating without a driver’s license and was 16 years old. The defendant’s guardian was notified and responded to Yorktown Police headquarters to be present during processing. After processing was completed the defendant was issued an appearance ticket for the above charge. The defendant was released on his own recognizance to a legal guardian, and is due to appear in the Westchester County Department of Probation on 4/09/2024 at 09:00 AM. He is also due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on 4/16/2024 at 6 PM to answer the traffic tickets that were issued. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 19-year-old Yonkers, NY, resident, who is charged with Criminal Mischief 4th degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
On March 27, 2024, at approximately 2:00 PM, the defendant was in police custody at Yorktown Police Headquarters on an unrelated charge. While in the booking room, the defendant allegedly ripped phone wires out, rendering a police phone inoperable. The defendant then allegedly scratched several words into the paint on a booking room door, causing damage. The defendant was advised that he was now being charged with criminal mischief for the damage. Following processing on the above charge, the defendant was remanded to the Westchester County Jail for the unrelated charge. He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court for arraignment on this charge on April 11, 2024, at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 19-year-old Yonkers, NY, resident who is charged with Assault 2nd, a class D Felony, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both class A Misdemeanors.
According to Police, on March 27, 2024, at approximately 10:10 AM, Officers were dispatched to Downing Park on a report of a male who assaulted two children. Upon arrival, they met with the victims and their mother who stated that an unknown male had approached the children in the playground and allegedly grabbed one child’s hood and pulled on it, obstructing his breathing. The male then went over to the second child and allegedly picked that child up by his hood and swung him around before dropping him to the floor, causing a scratch and redness to his head and eye. The male then went back to the first child and allegedly pushed him to the ground before kicking him in the stomach and running off into the wooded area. A description of the male was obtained and broadcast to additional responding units. P.O. Doherty and P.O. Houlihan entered the wooded area and were able to locate the male, who was identified as the defendant, and placed him under arrest. The defendant was transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. At Headquarters the defendant was processed on the above charges and brought before the Honorable Aviah Cohen-Pierson for arraignment. The defendant was unable to post bail and was remanded to the Westchester County Jail. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on April 11, 2024, at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 59 year-old, Yorktown, NY resident, who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree (Narcotic Drug 4 oz or more), a Class A-II Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree (Stimulant 1.0 grams or more), a Class A-II Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree (With Intent to Sell), a Class D Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon (Previously Convicted of a Crime), a Class D Felony and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
On March 14, 2024 at approximately 6:32 AM, Westchester County Probation contacted Yorktown Police and advised that they had performed a search of the defendant's residence and located narcotics and weapons within the residence. PO Vuoso responded to the residence and placed the defendant under arrest. It is alleged that the defendant was in possession of 138 grams of cocaine, 12.1 grams of Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine pills, 11 Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone Bitartrate pills, and metal knuckles, with intent to sell the previously mentioned controlled substances. The defendant was transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for arrest processing. The defendant was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Cohen-Pierson and was remanded to the Westchester County Department of Corrections. The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on March 21, 2024 at 6:00 PM. |
