Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 16-year-old Yorktown Heights, NY resident, who is charged with Juvenile Delinquency with the underlying charge being Unlawful Fleeing From A Police Officer 3rd degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor, Speed in Zone, Disobey a traffic control device, and Unlicensed Operator, all traffic infractions.
According to Police, on March 27, 2024 at approximately 1:24 AM, Officer Odar was on routine patrol when he observed a vehicle allegedly speeding on Route 202. P.O. Odar attempted to stop the vehicle by activating the emergency lights on his patrol vehicle. The vehicle allegedly attempted to drive away from P.O. Odar at a high rate of speed, and crossing over the double yellow line in the roadway. The vehicle crashed shortly after, and the suspect, identified as the defendant was placed in handcuffs at the scene. Upon further investigation, P.O. Odar determined the driver was allegedly operating without a driver’s license and was 16 years old. The defendant’s guardian was notified and responded to Yorktown Police headquarters to be present during processing. After processing was completed the defendant was issued an appearance ticket for the above charge. The defendant was released on his own recognizance to a legal guardian, and is due to appear in the Westchester County Department of Probation on 4/09/2024 at 09:00 AM. He is also due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on 4/16/2024 at 6 PM to answer the traffic tickets that were issued. Comments are closed.
