Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 28 year old Cortlandt Manor, NY, resident who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated BAC of .18% or More, both Unclassified Misdemeanors. The defendant was also charged with Following Too Closely, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Auto Accident and Unlicensed Operator, Traffic Infractions.
According to police, on December 20, 2020, at approximately 7:46 PM, Yorktown Police Officers responded to a report of a two car accident on Route 202, with one car allegedly leaving the scene. Upon arrival, officers located both drivers and vehicles and P.O. Ellsworth initiated an investigation. The defendant was identified as one of the drivers involved in the accident. Following an investigation at the scene, it is alleged that the defendant was operating a vehicle while intoxicated by alcohol. It is also alleged that the defendant followed a vehicle too closely, left the scene of a property damage auto accident and was an unlicensed operator. The defendant was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. After additional investigation at the Yorktown Police Department, it is alleged that the defendant operated a motor vehicle with blood alcohol content of .18% or more. After processing was completed the defendant was issued traffic tickets for the above charges. The defendant was released on her own recognizance to a responsible adult and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on January 5, 2020, at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 27 year old Millbrook, NY resident who is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree, a Class E Felony.
According to Police on December 25, 2020, at approximately 3:45 PM, Officer Hannigan was on patrol and advised of a possible stolen vehicle traveling Northbound on the Taconic State Parkway. Officer Hannigan responded to the area and located a vehicle matching the description. A traffic stop was initiated on the Taconic State Parkway in the vicinity of Crompond Road and the operator was identified. Officer Hannigan conducted an investigation and it is alleged that the defendant was knowingly in possession of a stolen 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. The defendant was processed at Yorktown Police Headquarters on the above charges and released on his own recognizance. The defendant is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on January 14, 2021, at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 27 year old Mohegan Lake, NY resident, who is charged with Burglary 1st Degree, a Class “B” Felony and Robbery 1st Degree, a Class “B” Felony.
According to police, on November 1, 2020, at approximately 2:14 AM, members of the Yorktown Police Department responded to a Yorktown residence on the report of an alleged assault that had just occurred. Following an investigation, it is alleged that the Defendant unlawfully entered the victim’s residence, forcibly stole property and caused physical injury to the victim. Initial attempts to locate the Defendant were unsuccessful, so an Arrest Warrant was applied for and issued by the Yorktown Justice Court. On December 22, 2020, at about 12:05 PM, the Defendant voluntarily appeared at Yorktown Police Headquarters and surrendered himself on the above charges. He was placed under arrest and processed on the above charges. After arrest processing was completed the Defendant was arraigned on the charges by the Honorable Gary Raniolo. A Temporary Order of Protection was issued and served on behalf of the victim. The Defendant was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on January 5, 2021, at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Town Supervisor Matt Slater announces that following consultation with Police Chief Robert M. Noble and Highway Superintendent David Paganelli, a Snow Emergency is being declared in Yorktown, effective 6:00 p.m,, December 16, 2020. The Snow Emergency is expected to be in effect until the Town’s roadways have been cleared of the snowfall from the pending storm.
A declaration of Snow Emergency is intended to assist Yorktown’s Highway Department in its effort to clear the roads of snow, and, to assist the Town’s emergency service agencies such as police, fire and emergency medical services in their efforts to respond to emergencies. Yorktown Code 275-14 clearly articulates that “any vehicle parked or abandoned on a public highway in the Town of Yorktown during a snowstorm, flood, fire or other public emergency which affects that portion of the public highway upon which said vehicle is parked or abandoned may be removed by or under the direction of The Chief of Police or the Superintendent of Highways and stored in any suitable place.” The owner of any vehicle that has been towed will need to present proof of ownership at the Yorktown Police Department prior to retrieving his or her vehicle. Inquiries concerning vehicles should be made to the Yorktown Police Department at 962-4141. Town Supervisor Slater is requesting that Yorktown’s residents refrain from operating vehicles on Town roads during the period of the Snow Emergency. If the need arises, operation of motor vehicles on Town roads will be prohibited during the Snow Emergency. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 24 year old Cortlandt Manor, NY, resident who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated Per Se with No Prior Convictions, which are both Unclassified Misdemeanors, as well as Driving Left of Pavement Markings, a Traffic Infraction.
On December 15, 2020, at approximately 1:00 AM, P.O. Vuoso was on routine patrol on Crompond Road in the area of Garden Lane when he observed a vehicle allegedly driving West bound in the East bound lane of Crompond Road. P.O. Vuoso got behind the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop just as the vehicle crossed in to the Town of Cortlandt. He identified the operator as the defendant. After an investigation at the scene, it was determined that the defendant was allegedly driving while intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. Upon further investigation at Yorktown Police Headquarters, the defendant was charged with allegedly having a B.A.C. over .18%. Following processing on the above charges, the defendant was issued uniform traffic tickets and released on his own recognizance to a responsible party. The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on January 5, 2021, at 6:00 PM. |
