Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 28 year old Cortlandt Manor, NY, resident who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated BAC of .18% or More, both Unclassified Misdemeanors. The defendant was also charged with Following Too Closely, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Auto Accident and Unlicensed Operator, Traffic Infractions.
According to police, on December 20, 2020, at approximately 7:46 PM, Yorktown Police Officers responded to a report of a two car accident on Route 202, with one car allegedly leaving the scene. Upon arrival, officers located both drivers and vehicles and P.O. Ellsworth initiated an investigation. The defendant was identified as one of the drivers involved in the accident. Following an investigation at the scene, it is alleged that the defendant was operating a vehicle while intoxicated by alcohol. It is also alleged that the defendant followed a vehicle too closely, left the scene of a property damage auto accident and was an unlicensed operator. The defendant was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. After additional investigation at the Yorktown Police Department, it is alleged that the defendant operated a motor vehicle with blood alcohol content of .18% or more. After processing was completed the defendant was issued traffic tickets for the above charges. The defendant was released on her own recognizance to a responsible adult and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on January 5, 2020, at 6:00 PM. Comments are closed.
