Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 19 year old Ossining man, who is charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Second Degree, an Unclassified Misdemeanor
According to police on August 26, 2018, at approximately 11:54 pm, Officer Curtis was on patrol in the area of Spring Valley Road, when he observed a vehicle that had an obstructed view. A traffic stop was initiated and the operator was identified. A computer check at the scene revealed that the defendant's driving privilege in New York was suspended on multiple dates for failure to pay fines and failure to answer a summons. The defendant was arrested at the scene and transported to police headquarters. The defendant was processed on the above charges and then released on $100.00 bail. The defendant is scheduled to answer said charges in the Yorktown Justice Court on September 27, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a two 49 year old Mahopac men, who are each charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a Violation. One of the men was additionally charged with operating a motor vehicle while using an electronic portable device and having an obstructed view, both traffic infractions.
On August 25, 2018 at about 4:50 pm, PO Battisa was on routine patrol on East Main Street and observed a male operator who was allegedly using an electronic portable device while driving. A vehicle and traffic stop was conducted and an investigation at the scene revealed that both defendants were allegedly in possession of a quantity of marijuana. A routine Driver’s License check revealed that the passenger allegedly had an Arrest Warrant out of the Town of Carmel for Aggravated Unlicensed Operating in the 2nd Degree. Both defendants were placed under arrest at the scene and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. The defendants were processed and both issued Appearance Tickets. The passenger with the Arrest Warrant was turned over to Carmel PD. They are both scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 27, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 67 year old Putnam Valley man, who is charged with Driving while Intoxicated with .08 or more blood alcohol content and Driving while Intoxicated, both Unclassified Misdemeanors. He is additionally charged with failing to keep right, a traffic infraction.
On August 24, 2018, at approximately 10:27 PM Yorktown Police received a call of personal injury auto accident and Officers were dispatched. An investigation on scene revealed that the defendant was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Further investigation revealed that the defendant was allegedly operating the vehicle while having a blood alcohol content of .08 or more and failed to keep right. The defendant was arrested and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.. The defendant was processed on the above charges and released on his own recognizance to a responsible party. The defendant is due back in Yorktown Court on September 6, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a thirty year old Ossining woman, who is charged with Consumption of an Alcoholic Beverage in a Public Place, a Town Code Violation.
On August 24, 2018 at about 3:32 pm, Yorktown Police responded to the Shrub Oak Park Community Association Beach on North Ridge Rd. for a resident’s complaint of an intoxicated female on the beach. Upon arrival, the responding officers were met by the reporting resident and directed to a secluded area of the beach where they located the defendant. Investigation revealed that the defendant was consuming cans of beer in a public place. The defendant was issued an Appearance Ticket at the scene and released on her own recognizance to a responsible party. She is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 20, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of 22 year old man from Country Club Hills, IL, who is charged with Leaving an Confinement of an Animal in a Motor Vehicle, a Town Code Violation.
On Friday, August 24, 2018 at about 1:00 pm, Animal Control Officer Macey and P.O. Peters responded to 3800 Crompond Rd. for a report of an unattended dog left in a vehicle. Upon arrival, the officers located a small male brown and white dog inside a parked, unattended vehicle in the parking lot. At the time of the officers’ arrival, the vehicle was in direct sunlight, the ambient air temperature was 80 degrees Fahrenheit and the vehicle’s interior was measured to be 105 degree Fahrenheit. The officers found the dog without water, panting heavily and in distress. The officers were able to enter the vehicle, remove the dog and place it into an air conditioned police vehicle. It was subsequently transported to the Yorktown Animal Hospital by the Animal Control Officer, where it was evaluated and properly treated. Officers later identified the dog’s owner, who endangered the health and well-being of the dog by leaving it unattended in the parked vehicle. On Saturday, August 25, 2018 at about 2:40 pm, the dog's owner responded to Yorktown Police Headquarters, where he was issued an appearance ticket for a violation of the Yorktown Town Code. The defendant was subsequently released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 20, 2018 at 6:00 pm. |
