21 Year Old Yorktown Man Charged with Felony Assault After Allegedly Striking Victim with ATV

The Yorktown Police Department reports the arrest of a 21-year-old, Yorktown, NY resident who is charged with Assault in the First Degree, a Class "B" Felony.
 
On 08/27/2023 at approximately 2:43 PM officers from the Yorktown Police Department were dispatched to the Hunterbrook Ballfield located at 2406 Hunterbrook Road to investigate a male struck by an ATV and was reported to be unconscious.  PO Vuoso and PO Houlihan were dispatched to investigate.  Upon arrival a male was observed with a severe leg injury as well as injuries to his head and chest.  PO Houlihan and a member of the Lake Mohegan Fire Department applied a tourniquet to the male’s leg and rendered aid.  PO Vuoso, Yorktown Medics and Mohegan Ambulance responded to assist and the male was transported to the Westchester Medical Center by Advanced Life Support.  
 
An investigation was conducted at the scene and it is alleged that the defendant did operate an ATV on Hunterbrook Ball Field and did intentionally drive the ATV into the male victim at a high rate of speed causing serious physical injuries to the male victim.  It is further alleged that the defendant did flee the scene and was located at a Yorktown residence off of Route 202.  It is alleged the defendant did sustain injuries to his face during the impact and was transported to the Westchester Medical Center by AMR Ambulance.  The Yorktown Police Department conducted an investigation with the assistance of the Yorktown Police Department Accident Investigation Team and the Westchester County Police Department Accident Investigative Team. 
 
On 08/28/2023 an arrest warrant was filed with the Yorktown Justice Court and approved for the arrest of the defendant for Assault in the First Degree.  The defendant was placed under arrest at the Westchester Medical Center by PO Gregorio on 08/28/2023 at 1940 hours and remains in the custody of the Yorktown Police Department pending arraignment at a future date. This case is still an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Yorktown Police Department Detective Division.

Yorktown Police Requesting Public Assistance Locating Missing Woman

Yorktown Police are requesting assistance from the public in locating Michelle White.  Michelle is a 34 year old vulnerable adult with a traumatic brain injury and may be in need of medical attention.  She was last seen on Amazon Road in the Town of Yorktown at 1:00 am on Friday, August 18, 2023 and is believed to be on foot.  Michelle was last seen wearing a black and white dress, blue jacket and flip flops.  She is 5'4", approximately 200 lbs. and has brown hair, which was styled in a bun.

Residents and business owners in the area of Mohegan Lake, especially in the area of Amazon Rd. & Lexington Ave., are asked to review any surveillance system footage from 1:00 am forward for any sightings of Michelle.  Any sightings or information leading to the whereabouts of Michelle White should be reported by telephone to the Yorktown Police Department at (914) 962-4141.

Identity Thief Arrested After Bank Teller Notifies Police of Suspicious Activity

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 35-year-old Bronx man, who is charged with Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor, Possession of a Forged Instrument, a Class “D” Felony, Identity Theft 1st degree, a Class “D” Felony, Forgery 2nd Degree, a Class “D” Felony, Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, a Class “D” Felony and Attempted Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, a Class “E” Felony.
 
On August 9, 2023 at around 2:45 PM, Yorktown Police responded to the report of a suspicious incident at the Chase Bank on Lee Blvd. A bank teller reported that a male subject was attempting to cash a check with a Connecticut license. The bank teller recognized the subject from a transaction that occurred on August 5th, however this time the subject was utilizing a different name and believed it to be suspicious. Yorktown Police arrived on scene, and an investigation was conducted. The subject, later identified as the defendant, was allegedly in possession of a fraudulent Connecticut Driver’s License, and allegedly attempting to take money out of an account in the victim’s name. The investigation also revealed on August 5th the defendant allegedly withdraw $8,000 from an account, later determined to be in a second victim’s name, while allegedly utilizing fraudulent identification.  The defendant was arrested on the above charges and brought to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing.
 
The defendant was arraigned by the Honorable Gary Raniolo and was remanded to the Westchester County Jail. The defendant is due back in the Yorktown Justice Court on August 15, 2023 at 6:00 PM. 

Yorktown Man Charged with Forcible Touching, Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 24-year-old Yorktown NY resident, who is charged with Forcible Touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both Class “A” Misdemeanors.
 
On July 26, 2023 at 9:21 PM, Yorktown Police received a report that a 16-year-old was touched inappropriately.  Officer Lizarzaburu met with the victim and her mother and initiated an investigation.  At the completion of the investigation police allege the defendant, who was working as the gas station attendant at the Xtra Fuel gas station, located at 1917 Commerce St, grabbed the victim’s buttocks several times without her permission while she was attempting to purchase gas.
 
On July 28, 2023 at 8:42 PM, the defendant arrived at the Yorktown Police Department and was placed under arrest by Officer Lizarzaburu.  After arrest processing was completed, the defendant was issued an appearance ticket for the above charges and released on his own recognizance.  The defendant is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on August 17, 2023 at 6:00 PM.

Two Arrested After Stolen Vehicle Stopped on Taconic State Parkway

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 42-year-old Wellington, FL man for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, a Class "E" Felony, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, and a 59-year-old Bronx woman for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree, a Class "E" Felony.
 
On August 5, 2023 at approximately 1:14 PM, Yorktown Police received a report of a stolen motor vehicle traveling northbound on the Taconic State Parkway that allegedly had been used in the commission of a crime in New York City. PO Curtin and PO Cora located the vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway and performed a traffic stop. Once the vehicle was stopped, the occupants, later identified as the defendants, were detained as per a request by NYPD. During the investigation on scene, PO Curtin determined the male defendant’s driving privileges were suspended in New York State. Additionally, both occupants were arrested for being in possession of the stolen vehicle.
 
The defendants were transported back to Yorktown Police Headquarters, where they were processed on the above charges. Both defendants were arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court by the Honorable Gary Raniolo.  Both defendants were remanded to the Westchester County Jail and are due back in Yorktown Justice Court on August, 8 2023 at 6:00 PM.
