Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 35-year-old Bronx man, who is charged with Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor, Possession of a Forged Instrument, a Class “D” Felony, Identity Theft 1st degree, a Class “D” Felony, Forgery 2nd Degree, a Class “D” Felony, Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, a Class “D” Felony and Attempted Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, a Class “E” Felony.
On August 9, 2023 at around 2:45 PM, Yorktown Police responded to the report of a suspicious incident at the Chase Bank on Lee Blvd. A bank teller reported that a male subject was attempting to cash a check with a Connecticut license. The bank teller recognized the subject from a transaction that occurred on August 5th, however this time the subject was utilizing a different name and believed it to be suspicious. Yorktown Police arrived on scene, and an investigation was conducted. The subject, later identified as the defendant, was allegedly in possession of a fraudulent Connecticut Driver’s License, and allegedly attempting to take money out of an account in the victim’s name. The investigation also revealed on August 5th the defendant allegedly withdraw $8,000 from an account, later determined to be in a second victim’s name, while allegedly utilizing fraudulent identification. The defendant was arrested on the above charges and brought to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. The defendant was arraigned by the Honorable Gary Raniolo and was remanded to the Westchester County Jail. The defendant is due back in the Yorktown Justice Court on August 15, 2023 at 6:00 PM.
