New York City Residents Arrested, Charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 28 year old Brooklyn, NY resident who is charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a Alass "A" Misdemeanor, speed in zone and unlicensed operator, both traffic infractions and a 24 year old Saint Albans, NY resident who is charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a Class "A" Misdemeanor.

On December 22, 2019 at about 11:30 PM, the Real Time Crime Center made a notification of an allegedly stolen vehicle traveling Northbound on the Taconic State Parkway.  At approximately 11:39 PM PO Campion observed the vehicle allegedly exceeding the posted speed limit on the Taconic State Parkway and conducted a traffic stop.  PO Campion identified the operator and passenger as the defendants.  After completing an investigation, it is alleged that both defendants took a motor vehicle without the owner's permission.  It's further alleged that the operator did not have a valid driver's license.  PO Campion then placed both defendants under arrest a the scene.  The defendants were then transported to Yorktown Police Department for processing.

The defendants were processed on the above charges, issued appearance tickets and released on their own recognizance.  They are both scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on January 28, 2020.

Peekskill Man Arrested for Allegedly Violating Order of Protection

Yorktown Police report the arrest a 53 year-old Peekskill, NY resident who is charged with 1 count of Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree a Class “A” Misdemeanor.
 
On 12/19/2019 the Yorktown Police Department received a report of a violation of a Temporary Order of Protection.  P.O. Gregorio and Det. Shanahan were assigned to investigate.   The investigation alleges the defendant engaged in a course of conduct between 12/02/2019 and 12/19/2019 which violated a duly served Putnam County Family Court Temporary Order of Protection by texting the protected person as well as responding to and entering a store the protected person was at.  The defendant was contacted by Officer Gregorio and agreed to surrender himself to the Yorktown Police Department. On 12/26/2019 at approximately 04:25 PM the defendant arrived at Police Headquarters and was charged.
 
Following arrest processing, the defendant was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court by the Honorable Judge Raniolo.  The defendant was released on his own recognizance and is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on 01/16/20 at 6:00 PM.

Poughkeepsie Man Arrested, Charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 24 year old male from Poughkeepsie, NY who is charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a class “A” Misdemeanor.
 
On December 21, 2019 at about 3:30 PM, the Real Time Crime Center made notification of an allegedly stolen vehicle that was travelling north bound on the Taconic State Parkway. At approximately 3:40 PM Sgt. Dillon and P.O. Rohr located the vehicle on Route 202 in the area of the Taconic Parkway. The officers conducted a traffic stop and identified the operator of the vehicle as the defendant. After completing an investigation, it is alleged that the defendant was operating the motor vehicle without the owner’s permission. The defendant was arrested at the scene and transported to Yorktown Police Department for processing.
 
The defendant was processed at police headquarters on the above charge and was released on his own recognizance. The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on January 28, 2020 at 6:00 PM to answer the charge.

Putnam Valley Woman Arrested, Charged with Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 28 year old Putnam Valley, NY resident who is charged with Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident, a class "A" Misdemeanor.

On 12/19/2019 at about 5:58 PM, P.O. Gregorio was dispatched to a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle on Lexington Ave.  The pedestrian was transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.  The defendant voluntarily returned to the scene as the investigation was being conducted.  It is alleged that the defendant struck the pedestrian and allegedly left the scene before police arrived.  The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Department for processing.

The defendant was processed and released on her own recognizance.  The defendant is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on 01/23/2020 at 6:00 PM to answer the charges.

Yorktown Man Charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 28 year old Yorktown, NY resident who is charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, 2 Counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a Class "A" Misdemeanor and Fail to Maintain Lane, a Traffic Violation.

On 12/18/19 at appoximately 2:40 PM, Officer Palladino was notified by an off duty Yorktown Police Officer that the defendant was attempting to operate a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs.  PO Palladino located the motor vehicle on East Main Street, observed a traffic infraction and conducted a traffic stop.  An investigation at the scene revealed that the defendant was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs.  Further investigation revealed that the defendant was allegedly in possession of a quantity of heroin, clonazepam and a hypodermic instrument.  The defendant was arrested and transported to Headquarters for processing.

The defendant was processed on the above charges and released on his own recognizance with an appearance ticket to a responsible party.  The defendant is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on 01/02/2020 at 6:00 pm.
