Corona Man Arrested, Charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child Following Reported Tobacco Sale7/31/2019
Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 42 year old Corona, New York resident who is charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a child in the second degree, a Class “B” Misdemeanor.
On July 12, 2019 at about 6:30 pm, Yorktown Police officers responded to a Yorktown residence to investigate a report of tobacco products being sold to a minor. Further investigation revealed that the defendant allegedly sold tobacco products to a 15 year old child on July 9, 2019 at approximately 5:45 pm. PO Doerr responded to 1925 Commerce Street and placed the defendant under arrest and transported him to Police Headquarters for processing. The defendant was processed on the above charge and later released on $200 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on August 15, 2019 at 6:00 pm. Yorktown Police report the arrest of three 15 year old females and two 16 year old females, from Peekskill, NY, who are all charged with Juvenile Delinquency. The underlying charge if committed by an adult would be Petit Larceny (a class A Misdemeanor).
According to police, on July 23, 2019 at approximately 5:08 PM, Yorktown Police responded to a report of a larceny in progress at Macy’s. Police conducted an investigation and it is alleged that the Juveniles did steal property valued at $571.98. Two of the Juveniles were detained by Macy’s loss prevention and the other three Juveniles were located by the Yorktown Police Department at the location. The Juveniles were placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for arrest processing. The Juveniles were processed on the Juvenile Delinquency charge. The Juveniles were issued a Family Court Appearance Ticket and released to a parent. The Juveniles are due to appear in the Westchester County Department of Probation on August 13, 2019 at 9:00 AM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 56 year old Shrub Oak, NY resident who is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, both unclassified misdemeanors. He was additionally charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor.
On July 28, 2019 at approximately 1:54 PM Officers responded to a report of an erratic driver. Officer Palladino located the vehicle in the gas station parking lot located at 930 East Main Street and identified the operator. A computer check at the scene revealed that the defendants driving privilege in New York was allegedly suspended for failure to answer a summons and his vehicle registration was allegedly suspended for an insurance lapse. Further investigation revealed that the defendant was allegedly in possession of a quantity of heroin. The defendant was arrested at the scene and transported to police headquarters. The defendant was processed on the above charges and then released on $100.00 cash bail. The defendant is scheduled to answer said charges in the Yorktown Justice Court on September 5, 2019 at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 22 year old male from Yorktown, NY who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, driving with a BAC of .18 or greater, both Misdemeanors. The defendant is additionally charged with Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Vehicle Crash, both are traffic infractions.
On July 27, 2019 at approximately 12:51 AM, Sgt. Dillon, P.O.Chaparro and P.O. Campion responded to the area of Gomer Street and Curry Street for a vehicle crash. It is alleged that the operator of the vehicle, the defendant had fled the scene on foot prior to officer’s arrival. Investigation at the scene identified the operator as the defendant. Investigation also alleges that the defendant Failed to Stop at a Stop Sign and was allegedly Driving While Intoxicated. The defendant was located and arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to Yorktown Police Department for processing. Once at Yorktown Police Department, it is further alleged that the defendant was Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .18 or greater. The defendant was processed at police headquarters on the above charges and was released on his own recognizance to a family member. The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on August 13, 2019 at 6:00 PM to answer the charges. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 36 year old East Hartford Connecticut resident who is charged with Reckless Driving, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, as well as numerous traffic violations.
According to police on June 27, 2019 at approximately 05:52 PM, Officer Ellsworth while on routine patrol on Crompond Rd, observed a motorcycle allegedly travelling at a high rate of speed. Officer Ellsworth attempted to initiate a vehicle and traffic stop by activating his emergency lights and sirens however the vehicle continued and turned onto the Taconic State Parkway northbound allegedly without signaling the turn. The defendant was allegedly travelling at speeds in excess of 100 mph while unsafely passing other motorists and committing numerous traffic violations. The pursuit was terminated for the safety of the public. As a result of an ongoing police investigation the defendant was identified as the alleged driver of the motorcycle and was later located and arrested. The defendant was processed on the above charges and released on his own recognizance. The defendant is due to back in Yorktown Justice Court on September 03, 2019 at 06:00 PM. |
