Connecticut Man Arrested, Charged with Reckless Driving

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 36 year old East Hartford Connecticut resident who is charged with Reckless Driving, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, as well as numerous traffic violations.
 
According to police on June 27, 2019 at approximately 05:52 PM, Officer Ellsworth while on routine patrol on Crompond Rd, observed a motorcycle allegedly travelling at a high rate of speed. Officer Ellsworth attempted to initiate a vehicle and traffic stop by activating his emergency lights and sirens however the vehicle continued and turned onto the Taconic State Parkway northbound allegedly without signaling the turn.  The defendant was allegedly travelling at speeds in excess of 100 mph while unsafely passing other motorists and committing numerous traffic violations.  The pursuit was terminated for the safety of the public. As a result of an ongoing police investigation the defendant was identified as the alleged driver of the motorcycle and was later located and arrested.
 
The defendant was processed on the above charges and released on his own recognizance. The defendant is due to back in Yorktown Justice Court on September 03, 2019 at 06:00 PM.
