Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 27 year old Yorktown resident who is charged with Assault in the 3rd Degree, a Class "A" Misdemeanor.
According to Police, PO Curtis on 02/19/2018 at 1:40 PM responded to the Yorktown Police Department to investigate a report of a past domestic incident that occurred at a Yorktown residence on 02/15/18 at 6:30 PM. Officer Curtis conducted an investigation and it is alleged that the defendant did grab and strike the victim multiple times as well as throw the victim against a wall causing pain and injury to the victim. The defendant voluntarily responded to the Yorktown Police Department and was placed under arrest on 02/19/2018 at 4:10 PM. He was processed on the above charge and was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court by Judge Raniolo where he was released on his own recognizance and a Temporary Order of Protection issued on behalf of the victim. The defendant is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on March 15th, 2018 at 6:00 PM. Mahopac Man Arrested After Giving Another Person's Name and Date of Birth During Traffic Stop2/9/2018
Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 49 year old Mahopac man who is charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without an Interlock Device, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Using a Cell Phone, a Traffic Infraction, Failing to Produce a Driver's License, a Traffic Infraction, as well Criminal Impersonation 2nd degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.
On October 14, 2017, P.O. Racioppo was on routine patrol when he conducted a traffic stop on East Main Street on a vehicle being operated by the defendant. The defendant was operating a motor vehicle while using a cell phone and failed to produce a valid driver's license. During the investigation, P.O. Racioppo conducted a routine license check of the name and birth date provided to him by the defendant which came back as valid. On January 30, 2018 at about 10:53 am, P.O. Garcia responded to Yorktown Police Department to take a report of Criminal Impersonation. The victim reported to P.O. Garcia that he had been notified by New York State Department of Motor Vehicles that his license was going to be suspended for failing to answer summonses. The victim advised that he had never received any summonses. P.O. Garcia’s investigation revealed that the defendant used the victim’s name and birth date on October 14, 2017 when stopped by P.O. Racioppo to hide his identity and that his driver's license was revoked. The defendant turned himself into Yorktown Police and was processed on the above charges. The defendant was processed and released on $100.00 cash bail. The defendant is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on March 6, 2018 at 6:00 pm to answer the charges. Yorktown Police report the arrest of two girl Lakeland High School students, both 16 years old and both of Mohegan Lake, who are charged with Falsely Reporting An Incident In The First Degree, a Class D Felony.
According to police on February 1, 2018 at about 10:32 am, Lakeland High School Resource Officer Lawrence Paniccia reported a bomb threat made at Lakeland High School. An investigation conducted by SRO Paniccia and Det. Lewis revealed that at about 9:17 am two 16 year old girls allegedly wrote a bomb threat on the wall in a girl's bathroom at Lakeland High School. As a result of the threat, the school was evacuated and subsequently searched by members of both the Yorktown Police Department and the Westchester County Department of Public Safety Bomb Squad, accompanied by explosive detection canines. The search did not reveal any explosive devices. As a result of the continuing investigation, on February 5th 2018 at about 10:20 am one of the females was arrested by SRO Paniccia outside her Amazon Rd. residence and the other female voluntarily appeared at police headquarters at about 11:45 am. Following processing on the charges, both defendants were arraigned by Judge Lagonia who released them on their own recognizance to their respective parents. Both suspects are scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on February 22, 2018 at 6:00 pm. |
