Hit and Run Driver Charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 67 year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, as well as Fail to Use Designated Lane and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Auto Accident, which are both Traffic Infractions.
 
According to police, on August 27, 2019 at approximately 2:50 pm, Officer Premuto responded to a report of a property damage auto accident involving a vehicle striking a mail box. Upon arrival, Officer Premuto met with and identified the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle as the defendant. After completing an investigation at the scene, the defendant was arrested for driving while his ability to do so was impaired by drugs, as well as failing to use a designated lane and leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident. The defendant was subsequently  transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.
 
Following processing, the defendant was issued traffic tickets for the above charges and released on his own recognizance to a family member. The defendant is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on September 5, 2019 at 6:00 pm.

Yorktown Man Charged with Weapon Possession Following Domestic Incident

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 38 year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor (2 Counts) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, a Class "D" Felony (2 Counts).
 
On August 26, 2019 at about 6:20 pm, P.O. Caprio was assigned to investigate a domestic incident that had occurred at a Yorktown residence. Following an investigation, it is alleged that the defendant was unlawfully in possession of two (2) unlicensed handguns, an assault rifle and a high capacity magazine.  The defendant was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.
 
Following processing on the charges, the defendant was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court and released after posting $15,000.00 bail.  The defendant is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on September 5, 2019 at 6:00 pm.

Croton on Hudson Resident Arrested During Accident Investigation

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 57 year old female from Croton on Hudson, NY who is charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd degree, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Following too Closely and Unlicensed Operation, both traffic violations.
 
On August 23, 2019 at about 12:00 PM P.O. Woodard and P.O. Lizarzaburu responded to Route 118 for a property damage automobile crash. During the investigation the defendant was identified via New York State non drivers ID card. It is alleged that the defendant was following another vehicle too closely. A routine NYSPIN check of the defendant revealed that she was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while not a having driver’s license. It is also alleged that the defendant was operating a motor vehicle while her privilege to do so was suspended. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Department for processing.
 
The defendant was processed and released on her own recognizance. She is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on September 24, 2019 at 6:00PM to answer the charges.

White Plains Resident Arrested Following Traffic Stop

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 34 year old White Plains, NY who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Operating a Vehicle While the Registration is Suspended or Revoked, an Unclassified Misdemeanor.
 
According to police on August 19, 2019 at about 11:10 PM, Officer Hannigan was on routine patrol operating an Elsag License Plate Reader on Route 6 near the intersection with Mill St. The LPR System activated on a passing vehicle indicating that the vehicle’s registration was allegedly suspended and Officer Hannigan conducted a traffic stop. The defendant was identified as the operator and owner of the vehicle and a check of the registration revealed that the vehicle’s registration was allegedly suspended for an insurance lapse. A subsequent investigation at the scene revealed that the defendant was also allegedly in possession of a quantity of Oxycodone. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.
 
Following processing on the above charges the defendant was issued an appearance ticket and a traffic ticket and released on his own recognizance. The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 9, 2019 at 6:00 PM.

Mohegan Lake Resident Arrested As Officers Investigate Domestic Incident

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 19 year old Mohegan Lake, NY resident who is charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd degree, a Class A Misdemeanor and Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor.
 
On August 18, 2019 at approximately 1:58 AM, Yorktown Police received a call reporting a domestic dispute at a Mohegan Lake Residence.  PO David and PO Ellsworth were dispatched to investigate.  An investigation at the scene was conducted during which the defendant allegedly prevented Officer’s David and Ellsworth from properly investigating the incident by forcibly pushing Officer David. It’s further alleged that the defendant resisted arrest by fighting with Officer’s and not complying with commands to stop resisting. The defendant was ultimately placed under arrest at the scene and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.
 
The defendant was processed on the above charges and was released on his own recognizance.  He is due in the Yorktown Justice Court on September 17, 2019 at 6:00PM.
