Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 22 year old Yorktown NY, resident who is charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd Degree, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle and speeding, both Traffic Infractions.
According to police on November 24, 2019 at approximately 11:18 PM, Sgt. Rapisarda observed a vehicle that was allegedly speeding on East Main Street and initiated a traffic stop. An investigation on scene revealed that the defendant was allegedly driving while his privilege to do so was suspended for failing to answer numerous summonses. The defendant was arrested and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. After being processed on the above charges the defendant was issued uniform traffic tickets and released on $100.00 cash bail. The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on January 02, 2020 at 06:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 67 year old Yorktown, NY resident who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated BAC .18% or More, which are both Unclassified Misdemeanors.
According to Police, on November 22, 2019, at approximately 9:28 PM, PO Ellsworth, PO Doherty and PO Rana responded to a vehicle & traffic complaint on Crompond Rd of a vehicle being operated erratically. The vehicle was located on Crompond Rd and an investigation at the scene determined that the defendant was allegedly driving while intoxicated and refused to take a breath test. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. Upon the completion of processing the defendant was also charged with allegedly having a BAC greater than .18%. Following processing on the above charges, the defendant was issued uniform traffic tickets and released on his own recognizance to a responsible party. The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on December 5, 2019, at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 59 year old Wappinger Falls, NY resident who is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree, an unclassified misdemeanor, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor.
On November 19, 2019 at approximately 4:57 PM Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officer Hannigan located the vehicle at 1710 Baldwin Road and identified the operator. A computer check at the scene revealed that the defendant’s driving privilege in New York was allegedly suspended multiple times for failure to answer a summons. Further investigation revealed that the defendant was allegedly in possession of a quantity of heroin and a quantity of crack cocaine. The defendant was arrested at the scene and transported to police headquarters. The defendant was processed on the above charges and held pending an arraignment. Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 26 year old Yorktown, NY, resident, who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
According to Police, on November 14, 2019, at approximately 8:55 PM, P.O. Lizarzaburu was on routine patrol on Crompond Road when he observed a vehicle being operated with one headlight out. He conducted a traffic stop and identified the defendant as the passenger. An investigation was conducted at the scene by P.O. Lizarzaburu after smelling the odor of marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle. A further investigation was conducted with the assistance of P.O. Beyrer and K9 Dallas which revealed that the defendant allegedly had 2 Alprazolam pills and 5 Clonazepam pills in an unmarked pill bottle in his pants pocket. The defendant was arrested at the scene and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for arrest processing. At Headquarters the defendant was processed on the above charge and released on his own recognizance. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on December 12, 2019, at 6:00 PM. Yorktown Chief of Police Robert Noble advises motorists that on Sunday November 10, 2019 at 2:00 pm the Yorktown Citizens’ Veterans Day Committee will be commemorating Veterans Day with a parade and ceremony. The parade will begin at Lakeland High School and continue on East Main Street to the John C. Hart Memorial Library grounds where there will be a ceremony at the Shrub Oak Veterans Monument.
To provide for safety of parade participants and spectators the following roadways will be closed temporarily to accommodate this event: 1.
