Yorktown Woman Arrested After Stabbing 13 Year Old in Hand

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a forty-three year old Yorktown woman, who is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class “A” Misdemeanor, and Attempted Assault in the 3rd Degree, a Class “B” Misdemeanor.
 
On September 27th, 2021 at about 6:20 pm, Yorktown Police responded to a Yorktown residence to investigate a report of a domestic dispute.  PO Gregorio was dispatched and began an investigation.  After further investigation it is alleged that during the domestic dispute a thirteen year old victim was stabbed in the hand with a fork, causing puncture wounds and minor bleeding.  At 7:05 pm PO Gregorio placed the defendant under arrest and transported her to Yorktown Police Headquarters processing. 
 
The defendant was arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court by the Honorable Salvatore Lagonia.  A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim and the defendant was released on her own recognizance.  The victim was left in the care of an adult relative under the advisement of the Court and Child Protective Services.  The defendant is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September, 28th at 6:00 pm.  

Yorktown Woman Arrested in Police Department Parking Lot After Driving with Child Clinging to Her Vehicle

Yorktown Police report the arrest of 41 year old Yorktown woman, who is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class "A" Misdemeanor.
 
According to police, on September 21, 2021 at about 10:20 pm, P.O. Palladino observed a domestic dispute in the parking lot of police headquarters. Following an investigation, it is alleged that the defendant endangered the welfare of a 15 year old child by driving her vehicle from a Yorktown residence to the Yorktown Police Department parking lot with the child clinging to a rear bike rack on the outside of her vehicle.  The defendant was arrested and brought inside police headquarters for processing and the child was left in the care of an adult family member.
 
Following processing on the above charge, the defendant was arraigned by the Honorable Salvatore Lagonia. The defendant was released on her own recognizance and a temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.  The defendant is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on October 5, 2021, 2021 at 6:00 pm.

Yorktown Woman Charged with Heroin Possession, Tampering with Evidence Following Rollover Accident

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 28 year old Yorktown resident, who is charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor, Tampering with Physical Evidence, a Class “E” Felony, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Fail to Keep Right and Unlicensed Operator, a both traffic infractions.
 
According to Police, on September 21, 2021 at approximately 1:41 pm, PO Garcia was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Oakside Road.  An investigation was conducted at the scene by PO Garcia and it is alleged that the defendant was driving while her privilege to do so was suspended for failing to answer a summons. Following further investigation it is alleged that the defendant was in possession of a quantity heroin. The defendant was arrested and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing.
 
It is further alleged that while at the Yorktown Police Department the defendant tampered with physical evidence.  Following processing on the above charges the defendant was issued an appearance ticket and released on her own recognizance.  She is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on October 7, 2021 at 6:00 pm.

Traffic Advisory: Yorktown Grange to Hold Annual Tractor Parade Saturday, September 11th at Noon

​Yorktown Police Department Chief of Police Robert Noble advises motorists that on Saturday September 11, 2021 at 12:00 pm the Yorktown Grange will be holding its Annual Tractor Parade. 

The parade will begin at the Yorktown Heights Fire Department fair grounds on Veterans Rd., continue to Commerce St., to Hanover St., and conclude at the Grange Fairgrounds on Moseman Rd.
 
To provide for safety of parade participants and spectators the following roadways will be closed from approximately 11:30 am until the conclusion of the parade, estimated to be approximately one hour.

3. Commerce St. @ Yorktown Heights Fire Dept.

Yorktown Officers Arrest Three Intoxicated Drivers During Stop DWI Enforcement Detail

Yorktown Police, recently participated in the statewide New York State Governor's Traffic Safety Committee "Stop DWI" campaign.  As a result of the department's participation in this targeted enforcement effort, the following arrests were made by Yorktown Police Department officers:
  • A 52 year old Hamden, CT woman, who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC over .08% and Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense, both Unclassified Misdemeanors, as well as Failure To Use Designated Lane, Failure To Use Signal Lights and Moving From Lane Unsafely, all Traffic Infractions.  On September 04, 2021 at approximately 10:02 pm, P.O. Uhl was assigned to the STOP-DWI Enforcement Detail.  While on patrol of Route 6, PO Uhl observed a vehicle allegedly failing to use its designated lane, failing to use signal lights, and moving from its lane unsafely.  PO Uhl conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as the defendant.  After completing an investigation at the scene, it is alleged that the defendant was driving while intoxicated. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. Upon further investigation at headquarters, it is alleged that the defendant was operating a motor vehicle with a BAC over .08%.  Following processing on the charges, the defendant was issued uniform traffic tickets for the above listed charges and was released on her own recognizance to a responsible third party. The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 16, 2021 at 6:00 pm.
  • ​A 45 year old Peekskill man, who is charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated BAC .18% or Higher with a previous conviction and Driving While Intoxicated with a previous conviction, both Class "E" Felonies, as well as Failure to Dim Headlights and Move from Lane Unsafely, both Traffic Infractions.  On September 05, 2021 at approximately 3:10 am, PO Curtis was assigned to the STOP-DWI Enforcement Detail.  While on patrol of Route 6, PO Curtis observed a vehicle allegedly fail to dim its headlights and move from its lane unsafely.  PO Curtis performed a traffic stop of the vehicle and identified the defendant as the operator.  After completing an investigation on scene, it is alleged that the defendant was driving while intoxicated.  The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing.  Upon further investigation at police headquarters, it is alleged that the defendant was operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .18% or more and was previously convicted of DWI within the last 10 years.  Following processing on the charges, the defendant was issued an appearance ticket for the above listed charges and was released on his own recognizance to a responsible party. The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 14, 2021 at 6:00 pm.
  • A 60 year old Yorktown Heights man, who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, and Moved From Lane Unsafely (2 Counts), a Traffic Infraction.  According to Police, on September 5, 2021 at approximately 11:04 pm, Officer Lizarzaburu was assigned to the STOP-DWI Enforcement Detail.  While on patrol of Crompond Road, in the area of the Taconic State Parkway, Officer Lizarzaburu observed a vehicle allegedly move from its designated lane unsafely.  A traffic stop was initiated on Strang Blvd. and the operator was identified as the defendant.  After an investigation on scene, it is alleged that the defendant was Driving While Intoxicated.  The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing.  Following processing, the defendant was issued UTTs and released on his own recognizance to a responsible party.  The defendant is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 16, 2021 at 6:00 pm.
