Yorktown Juvenile Charged with Possession of Pistol Components & Forged Instruments

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 17-year-old Yorktown resident, who is charged with Juvenile Delinquency. The underlying charges; if committed by an adult, would have been: 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a weapon in the 4th Degree and 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 3rd degree, which are Class A Misdemeanors.
 
According to Police, on March 13, 2023, Officer Hannigan, working in conjunction with members of the Westchester County Police Department (WCPD) learned a Yorktown Juvenile may possibly have obtained firearms and/or firearm parts and components.
 
At 12:00 PM, Yorktown Police, assisted by Officers from WCPD and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office attempted to locate the Juvenile, who was eventually located on Baldwin Road. An investigation was conducted at a local residence where Police located and seized what they allege to be multiple firearm parts, pistol components and some documents they allege to be forged. The Juvenile Delinquent was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for arrest processing.
 
At Police Headquarters, the juvenile was processed with a parent present and issued a Juvenile Appearance Ticket directing them to appear in Westchester County Family Court, in White Plains on March 30, 2023 at 10:00 AM.  The juvenile was released to a parent. 

Two Women Arrested After Fleeing Officers in Vehicle & On Foot

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 24-year-old Manhattan woman, who is charged with Criminal Possession Stolen Property 3rd Degree, a Class "D" Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a Class "A" Misdemeanor, Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, a Class "A" Misdemeanor, Reckless Driving, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, and numerous Vehicle & Traffic Law violations.  Yorktown Police also report the arrest of a 21-year-old Brooklyn woman,  who is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree, a Class "D" Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a Class "A" Misdemeanor.
 
According to Police, on March 7, 2023, at approximately 2:45 PM, Officer Curtis was dispatched to investigate a past larceny at Ulta Beauty in the Jefferson Valley Mall.  While the investigation was being conducted, Sgt. Sansone observed the defendant from the larceny and a passenger driving through the Jefferson Valley Mall parking lot.  He attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the defendant allegedly failed to stop and fled the scene, committing numerous vehicle and traffic violations.  A short time later, Westchester County Police Officers observed the vehicle traveling on the Saw Mill River Parkway and were able to take the occupants, later identified as the defendants, into custody after a brief foot pursuit.  Officer Curtis and Officer Charles then responded to the Westchester County Police Department and placed the defendants under arrest.  They were transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.
 
Upon further investigation at Yorktown Police Headquarters, it was revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Boston, Massachusetts, and that the defendants were allegedly in possession of a quantity of Oxycodone which was located in the center console of the vehicle.  It was also determined that Defendant #1 had a warrant out of New York City and Defendant #2 had a warrant out of Horseheads, NY.  The defendants were processed on the above charges.  They were arraigned by the Honorable Aviah Cohen-Pierson and released on their own recognizance.  Defendant #1 was issued numerous traffic summonses and then turned over to the custody of NYPD for the warrant.  Defendant #2 was turned over to the custody of New York State Police for the warrant.  They are scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on March 23, 2023, at 6:00 PM.

"Erratic Operator" Charged with Driving While Impaired by Drugs

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 25 year old Peekskill, NY resident, who is charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (Previous conviction within ten years), a Class E Felony, Failed to Keep Right and Failed to signal, both of which are Traffic Infractions.
 
On March 3, 2023 at approximately 3:48 PM, P.O. Lizarzaburu and P.O. Doherty responded to a call of an erratic operator on Valleyview Street in the area of Strawberry Road.  Upon arrival P.O. Lizarzaburu identified the defendant as the operator of the vehicle which had allegedly failed to keep right and failed to use a turn signal.  After an investigation at the scene, it is alleged that the defendant was driving while his ability was impaired by drugs.  It is further alleged that the defendant had a prior conviction for driving while ability impaired by drugs in the Town of Cortlandt.  The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing on the above charges. 
 
After processing was completed the defendant was issued traffic tickets for the above charges.  He was released on his own recognizance to a responsible adult and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on March 21, 2023 at 6:00 PM.

Carmel Man with Felony Warrant Arrested After Traffic Stop

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 21-year-old Carmel man for an Arrest Warrant, the underlying charge being Grand Larceny 4th Degree, a Class “E” Felony.  The defendant is also charged with Moving from Lane Unsafely and Open Container of Alcohol in a Vehicle, both Traffic Infractions.
 
On December 16, 2022 at 10:15 AM, Yorktown Police received a report of a past larceny.  Officer Curtis and Officer Delgado met with the victim and initiated an investigation.  After completing the investigation, it is alleged that the defendant agreed to sell the victim ten pairs of sneakers via Instagram.  The victim paid the defendant $1,750.00 via Zelle for the sneakers, however, the defendant allegedly never sent the sneakers to the victim in return for the payment.  A warrant application was completed for the defendant and an Arrest Warrant was issued by the Yorktown Justice Court.
 
On March 2, 2023 at about 2019 hours Officer Campion was on patrol on Route 6 when he observed a vehicle allegedly move from its lane unsafely.  Officer Campion conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as the defendant.  During the traffic stop, Officer Campion also allegedly observed an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.  Officer Campion placed the defendant under arrest for the Arrest Warrant and transported him to the Yorktown Police Department for arrest processing.
 
Following processing on the above charges, the defendant was issued two traffic tickets and arraigned by the Honorable Aviah Cohen-Pierson.  The defendant was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on March 23, 2023 at 6:00 PM.
