Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 17-year-old Yorktown resident, who is charged with Juvenile Delinquency. The underlying charges; if committed by an adult, would have been: 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a weapon in the 4th Degree and 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 3rd degree, which are Class A Misdemeanors.
According to Police, on March 13, 2023, Officer Hannigan, working in conjunction with members of the Westchester County Police Department (WCPD) learned a Yorktown Juvenile may possibly have obtained firearms and/or firearm parts and components. At 12:00 PM, Yorktown Police, assisted by Officers from WCPD and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office attempted to locate the Juvenile, who was eventually located on Baldwin Road. An investigation was conducted at a local residence where Police located and seized what they allege to be multiple firearm parts, pistol components and some documents they allege to be forged. The Juvenile Delinquent was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for arrest processing. At Police Headquarters, the juvenile was processed with a parent present and issued a Juvenile Appearance Ticket directing them to appear in Westchester County Family Court, in White Plains on March 30, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
