Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 26 year old Yorktown, NY, resident, who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
According to Police, on November 14, 2019, at approximately 8:55 PM, P.O. Lizarzaburu was on routine patrol on Crompond Road when he observed a vehicle being operated with one headlight out. He conducted a traffic stop and identified the defendant as the passenger. An investigation was conducted at the scene by P.O. Lizarzaburu after smelling the odor of marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle. A further investigation was conducted with the assistance of P.O. Beyrer and K9 Dallas which revealed that the defendant allegedly had 2 Alprazolam pills and 5 Clonazepam pills in an unmarked pill bottle in his pants pocket. The defendant was arrested at the scene and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for arrest processing. At Headquarters the defendant was processed on the above charge and released on his own recognizance. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on December 12, 2019, at 6:00 PM.
