Yorktown Police report the arrest of a two 49 year old Mahopac men, who are each charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a Violation. One of the men was additionally charged with operating a motor vehicle while using an electronic portable device and having an obstructed view, both traffic infractions.
On August 25, 2018 at about 4:50 pm, PO Battisa was on routine patrol on East Main Street and observed a male operator who was allegedly using an electronic portable device while driving. A vehicle and traffic stop was conducted and an investigation at the scene revealed that both defendants were allegedly in possession of a quantity of marijuana. A routine Driver’s License check revealed that the passenger allegedly had an Arrest Warrant out of the Town of Carmel for Aggravated Unlicensed Operating in the 2nd Degree. Both defendants were placed under arrest at the scene and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. The defendants were processed and both issued Appearance Tickets. The passenger with the Arrest Warrant was turned over to Carmel PD. They are both scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 27, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Comments are closed.
