Millbrook Man Charged with Possessing Stolen Vehicle Following a Traffic Stop

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 27 year old Millbrook, NY resident who is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree, a Class E Felony. 
 
According to Police on December 25, 2020, at approximately 3:45 PM, Officer Hannigan was on patrol and advised of a possible stolen vehicle traveling Northbound on the Taconic State Parkway.  Officer Hannigan responded to the area and located a vehicle matching the description.  A traffic stop was initiated on the Taconic State Parkway in the vicinity of Crompond Road and the operator was identified.  Officer Hannigan conducted an investigation and it is alleged that the defendant was knowingly in possession of a stolen 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee.  The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.
 
The defendant was processed at Yorktown Police Headquarters on the above charges and released on his own recognizance.  The defendant is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on January 14, 2021, at 6:00 PM.
