Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 57-year-old Stamford, CT resident who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated BAC .18% or More, both Unclassified Misdemeanors, as well as Consumption or Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in Motor Vehicle, and 2 counts of Disobeying a Traffic Control Device, all Traffic Infractions.
On March 30, 2024 at 10:20 PM, Yorktown Police responded to the area of Route 35 for a report of a vehicle being operated erratically. It was reported that the vehicle was swerving in the roadway and entered the opposing lane of traffic on several occasions. A vehicle description was provided and Officers canvassed the area. While canvassing, PO DiNotte observed a vehicle which matched the provided description on Route 118. PO DiNotte observed the vehicle cross the double yellow lines into the opposing lane of travel on at least two occasions and he initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle. After an investigation was conducted it is alleged that the operator identified as the defendant, possessed an open container of an alcoholic beverage inside the vehicle and was driving while intoxicated. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to The Yorktown Police Department for arrest processing. After further investigation at The Yorktown Police Department, it is alleged that the defendant operated a motor vehicle with a BAC of .18% or more. After processing was completed the defendant was issued traffic tickets for the above charges and released on their own recognizance to a responsible person. The defendant is due to appear in The Yorktown Justice Court on April 11, 2024 at 6:00 PM. Comments are closed.
