Vermont Woman Arrested After Driving Stolen Van to Police Headquarters

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 74 year old Burlington, Vermont woman,  who is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree, a Class "E" Felony.

According to Police, on July 27, 2021 at approximately 4:00 pm, Officer Madaus took a report from the defendant in reference to an unrelated matter.  Following an investigation at a later time, it was discovered that the defendant was allegedly in possession of a stolen 2021 Ford Transit van that had been reported stolen in Essex, Vermont.  On August 12, 2021 the defendant returned to the Yorktown Police Department for an unrelated matter-allegedly still in possession of the aforementioned vehicle and was placed under arrest.
 
The defendant was processed at Yorktown Police Headquarters on the above charge and released on her own recognizance.  The defendant is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on August 26, 2021 at 6:00 pm.
