Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 32 year old Bronx man, who is charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without an Interlock Device Installed, both Unclassified Misdemeanors, as well as numerous other traffic violations.
According to police, on August 10, 2021 at approximately 5:09 pm, Officer Curtis was patrolling Route 6 when he observed a vehicle allegedly fail to use the designated lane and drive onto the shoulder of the roadway. Officer Curtis performed a traffic stop of the vehicle and identified the driver as the defendant. A DMV check of the defendant’s license status showed that the defendant was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while his privilege to do so was revoked. A DMV check of the vehicle’s license plate and VIN showed that the vehicle was allegedly unregistered, uninsured and the affixed license plates did not belong to that vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the defendant was allegedly operating a motor vehicle without a court-ordered ignition interlock device. The defendant was placed under arrest and processed on the scene. The defendant was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on August 26, 2021 at 6:00 pm.
