Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 56 year old Yorktown man, who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, a Class "A" Misdemeanor, Driving While Intoxicated, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, as well as Open Container of Alcohol, Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent, and Fail to Use Designated Lane, all Traffic Infractions.
According to police on July 24, 2020 at approximately 4:41 PM, Yorktown Police received a report of a single vehicle accident involving a vehicle that had rolled over. Officer Lizarzaburu and several other officers responded to the scene and identified the defendant as the operator of the vehicle involved in the single vehicle accident. The scene was made safe and the defendant was treated by EMS personnel. After an investigation at the scene, it’s alleged that the defendant was driving while intoxicated, possessed open containers of alcohol, was travelling at a speed that was not reasonable or prudent for the road conditions, and failed to use his designated lane. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Hudson Valley Hospital for medical treatment. After being released from the hospital, he was transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters by Officer Lizarzaburu for arrest processing. After further investigation at Yorktown Police Headquarters, it’s alleged that the defendant was unlawfully in possession of a quantity of Diazepam. Following processing on the charges, the defendant was issued traffic tickets and an appearance ticket for the above charges and released on his own recognizance to a responsible party. The defendant is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on September 3, 2020 at 6:00 PM. Comments are closed.
