Yorktown Police report the arrest of 53 year old Yonkers woman on an Arrest Warrant issued for Petit Larceny and Possession of Burglar’s Tools, both Class "A" Misdemeanors.
According to Police, on May 7, 2019 at approximately 5:14 pm, Officer Campion was dispatched to the Macy’s department store on Lee Blvd for a larceny in progress. An investigation at the scene revealed that on May 7, 2019, the defendant allegedly stole $659 worth of assorted merchandise and fled the scene. It’s further alleged that during the larceny, the defendant used an item to defeat the store's electronic security sensors. Officer Campion made several unsuccessful attempts to contact the defendant in regards to the incident. A warrant was applied for and issued by the Yorktown Justice Court on June 4, 2019 for her arrest. On October 21, 2020, Yorktown Police were notified by the Westchester County Department of Corrections that the defendant was in their custody on unrelated charges. Det. Finn and Officer Battista responded to the Westchester County Jail abd took custody of the defendant. She was placed under arrest and transported back to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. The defendant was processed on the above charges, arraigned by the Honorable Gary Raniolo and subsequently released on her own recognizance. She is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on November 10, 2020 at 6:00 pm. Comments are closed.
