Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 28 year-old Baldwin Place man, who is charged with Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree, a Class “E” Felony and Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.
On September 18, 2018, Yorktown Police Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a domestic incident that took place at the Jefferson Valley Mall parking lot. Officers conducted an investigation and it was determined that the defendant violated a Town of Carmel Criminal Court Temporary Order of Protection. It was also determined that the defendant followed the victim to her vehicle where he grabbed the victim by the arm, causing her to drop her cell phone. It is further alleged that the defendant pushed the victim and picked up the victim's cell phone preventing her from calling 911 for assistance. The defendant was contacted and agreed to voluntarily surrender on the above charges. On September 24, 2018 at approximately 11:30 am the defendant arrived at Police Headquarters and was placed under arrest. Following arrest processing, the defendant was arraigned by the Honorable Salvatore Lagonia. The defendant was issued a Temporary Order of Protection protecting the victim and released after posting $2,500.00 bail. The defendant is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on September 25, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Comments are closed.
