Yorktown Police report the arrest of an 18 year old Briarcliff Manor man, who is charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th Degree, both Class "A" Misdemeanors.
According to Police, on May 28, 2018 at approximately 9:58 pm, P.O. Battista while on routine patrol of Commerce Street observed an occupied suspicious vehicle and initiated a vehicle and traffic stop. While conducting an investigation it is alleged that the defendant yelled profanities at the officer, pushed the officer, and challenged the officer to fight, which interfered with the police investigation and prevented the officer from performing his official duties. Further investigation revealed that the defendant was allegedly in possession of a quantity of marijuana. The defendant was arrested and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. The defendant was processed on the above charges and released on $500.00 bail to a responsible party. The defendant is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on June 28, 2018 at 6:00 pm.
