Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 24 year old Buchanan, NY resident who is charged with Petit Larceny & Making Graffiti, Class A Misdemeanors.
Police report that on July 15, 2019 at approximately 11:30 AM they received a report of a shoplifting complaint at AC Moore where two suspects had allegedly stolen 16 cans of spray paint, valued at $119.84, and fled the scene. Det. Shanahan and PO Hannigan were assigned to investigate. A description of a possible vehicle used to flee the scene was broadcast to area Police Departments. A short while later a Peekskill patrol unit spotted the vehicle which was occupied by Vines-Meve. Some of the allegedly stolen property was located in the vehicle. After arrest processing by Peeksill PD, Yorktown Officers responded to Peekskill PD to arrest Vines-Mevec for the Petit Larceny. Continuing investigation by Yorktown Officers resulted in Vines-Mevec being charged with Making Graffiti for allegedly spray painting graffiti on the sound barrier on Rt 6 in April 2019. The defendant was processed on the above charges, issued an appearance ticket and later released on $100.00 cash bail. He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on August 15, 2019 at 06:00 pm.
