6/19/2019

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a nineteen year old Mohegan Lake man and a nineteen year old Peekskill man, who are both charged with Petit Larceny, a Class "A" Misdemeanor, False Personation, a Class "B" Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a Violation; a sixteen year old White Plains man, and a fifteen year old juvenile from Peekskill, who are both charged with Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Identity Theft 2nd Degree, and two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, all Class "E" Felonies, Petit Larceny, a Class "A" Misdemeanor and False Personation, a Class "B" Misdemeanor.

Police report that on June 15, 2019 at about 8:00 PM, they received a complaint from a resident who reported that his credit card company notified him that his credit card was actively being used at the JV Mall.  Officers were dispatched to the stores where the card was used and were able to obtain descriptions of the suspects.  A search of the Mall resulted in the apprehension of suspects.  Further investigation at the scene resulted in the arrest of the suspects for allegedly acting in concert to use the credit card to steal property in excess of $1,000 at Piercing Pagoda and under $1,000 at H&M and Foot Locker, to use the identity of the owner of the credit card, to possess stolen property, and for giving false names during arrest processing.  In addition, the two adults were alleged to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  Further investigation revealed that the suspects had obtained the victim's credit card after stealing it from an unlocked vehicle that was in the victim's driveway a short distance from the mall.

All the defendants were transported to Yorktown PD for processing.  The two nineteen year suspects were remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail and are due back in Yorktown Justice Court on June 20, 2019 at 6:00 pm.  The sixteen year old suspect was released on his own recognizance to a parent and is also scheduled to appear on June 20, 2019 at 6:00 pm.  The fifteen year old suspect was remanded to Woodfield Cottage and is to appear in Westchester County Family Court.
