Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 23 year old Cortlandt man, who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, a Class "A" Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, a Violation.
According to Police, on March 10, 2021 at approximately 1:33 am, P.O. Uhl was on patrol conducting a business check of the McDonald's Restaurant on Crompond Road when he observed an occupied vehicle, parked and running in the parking lot. P.O. Uhl went to check on the driver, who he identified as the defendant, to make sure he was not in need of any assistance. While speaking to the defendant, P.O. Uhl observed a clear plastic bag allegedly containing marijuana on the front passenger seat. An investigation was conducted at the scene, which revealed that the defendant had an active warrant out of the City of Peekskill. Further investigation revealed that the defendant allegedly had a quantity of alprazolam (Xanax) pills in a clear plastic bag in the waist band of his pants. The defendant was subsequently arrested at the scene and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for arrest processing. The defendant was processed on the above charges and released on his own recognizance with an appearance ticket. He was then taken into custody by Peekskill Police on the outstanding arrest warrant. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on March 25, 2021 at 6:00 pm. Comments are closed.
