Cortlandt Man Charged with Drugged Driving, Heroin Possession After Crashing into Ditch

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 31 year old Cortlandt Manor man, who is charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, an Unclassified Misdemeanor and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a Class "A" Misdemeanor.
 
On August 18, 2018 at approximately 11:00 pm, Yorktown Police Officers were dispatched to Route 6 for a motor vehicle accident with a vehicle into a ditch.  Upon arrival, an investigation at the scene revealed that the defendant was operating a motor vehicle while impaired on drugs.  Further investigation revealed that the defendant was in possession of a quantity of heroin.  The defendant was arrested and transported to Headquarters for processing.
 
The defendant was processed on the above charges and later released on his own recognizance to a responsible party.  He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on September 4, 2018 at 06:00 pm.
