Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 56 year old man from Garrison, NY, who is charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree, a Class "A" Misdemeanor, Resisting Arrest, a Class "A" Misdemeanor, and Disorderly Conduct, a Violation.
On February 19, 2020 at approximately 8:17 pm, Yorktown Police received a call reporting an altercation at a local restaurant on Lexington Ave in Mohegan Lake. PO Caprio and PO Madaus were dispatched to investigate. Upon arrival of the officers, contact was quickly made with the defendant, who began threatening the police officers while screaming and shouting obscenities inside the restaurant. As the officers tried to de-escalate the situation, the defendant forcibly grabbed Officer Caprio. The officers attempted to arrest the defendant, who resisted arrest by fighting with officers and not complying with commands to stop. The defendant was eventually taken into custody and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. The defendant was processed on the above charges and was released on his own recognizance to a responsible third party. He is due in the Yorktown Justice Court on March 10, 2020 at 6:00 pm.
