Domestic Incident Investigation Leads to Arrest

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 58 year old Bronx, NY, resident who is charged with Assault 3rd degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
 
According to Police, on June 13th, 2019, at approximately 10:34 PM, P.O. Doherty responded to a report of a domestic dispute.  An investigation was conducted at the scene by P.O. Doherty which revealed that the defendant, who was not on scene, allegedly struck the victim above her left eye with his fist causing bruising and swelling. A warrant was applied for and issued by the Yorktown Justice Court on July 25, 2019.
 
On August 8, 2019, the defendant voluntarily surrendered himself at Yorktown Police Headquarters.  He was placed arrest and processed on the above charge.  He was arraigned by the Honorable Gary Raniolo and released on his own recognizance.  The defendant is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 19, 2019, at 6:00 PM.
