Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 53 year old Yorktown Heights resident, who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .18% or more, both Unclassified Misdemeanors. He is additionally charged with leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident and Failing to Maintain Lane, both Traffic Infractions.
On November 11, 2017 at about 11:30 PM, Yorktown Police received a call for a property damage motor vehicle accident at in front of a Hanover Street residence. The caller reported that the vehicle had left the scene after demolishing a wooden fence. Yorktown Police responded and followed the debris and leaking fluid trail back to the defendant's house down the road. PO Ellsworth found the driver standing by his crashed car and determined that he was driving while intoxicated. it is alleged that the driver of the vehicle was driving while intoxicated. The defendant was arrested and transported back to Yorktown Police Headquarters, where he was further charged with Aggravated DWI (having a Blood Alcohol Content of .18% or more), leaving the scene of a property damage motor vehicle accident and failing to maintain his lane. The defendant was later released on his own recognizance to a responsible party. He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on November 21, 2017 at 6:00 pm. Comments are closed.
