Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 55 year old woman from Carmel, NY, who is charged with Driving While Ability Impaired, Refusal to Take Breath Test, Consumption or Possession of an Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle, and Possessing More Than One NYS Driver's License, which are all Traffic Infractions.
On February 20, 2020, at approximately 12:35 am, Yorktown Police were checking the area of Rochambeau Drive for a vehicle that was wanted by Carmel PD. PO Rana located the vehicle and identified the operator as the defendant. After an investigation on scene, PO Rana located an open bottle of wine inside the vehicle and determined that the defendant was operating the vehicle while her ability to do so was impaired by alcohol. When asked to submit to a breath test at the scene, the defendant refused. She was placed under arrest and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. Upon further investigation at Yorktown Police Headquarters, the defendant was additionally charged with possessing more than one New York State Driver's License. Following processing on the above charges, the defendant was issued uniform traffic tickets and was turned over to Carmel Police Department. She is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on March 10, 2020, at 6:00 pm. Comments are closed.
