Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 31 year old Hampton, New Hampshire man, who is charged with Assault 3rd Degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, all Class “A” Misdemeanors, and being a Felony Fugitive from Justice as defined in the New York State Criminal Procedure Law.
On February 27, 2022 at about 2:54 pm, Yorktown Police responded to a Mohegan Lake residence for a report of a domestic incident in progress. Responding units contacted the victim, who stated that the suspect had just fled the scene. Other responding Yorktown Police units observed the suspect’s vehicle traveling eastbound on Route 6 and conducted a traffic stop at the intersection with the Taconic State Parkway. Subsequent to an investigation at the original scene, the defendant was placed under arrest. It is alleged that the defendant threw a female victim to the ground, punched her in the face and obstructed her breathing by applying pressure to her throat. After placing the defendant under arrest, it is also alleged that he was illegally in possession of a quantity of both Oxycontin and Xanax. The suspect was transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. During arrest processing the defendant was fingerprinted, and it’s alleged that the defendant had an open extraditable felony warrant issued in New Hampshire. The defendant was charged as a Fugitive From Justice and arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court by the Honorable Gary Raniolo. The defendant was remanded to the Westchester County Jail on the Fugitive From Justice charge. Additionally, the defendant was remanded in lieu of $10,000 cash bail / $25,000 secured bond / $100,000 partial secured bond stemming from the three domestic violence-related charges. The defendant is due to virtually appear in Yorktown Justice Court on March 1, 2022 at 5:30 pm. Comments are closed.
